Nexus Boot Animation

I'm not a dev and I haven't been able to find instructions to change my boot animation that I can follow. Is there anyway to just install an .APK or something easy like that? I'm looking for stock Nexus boot animation. Thanks guys!

No, you can't just install an apk.

You need to be rooted. You'll likely be able to find some boot animations over at www.forum.xda-developers.com as .zip. Flash those in recovery.

I've wondered how to do this myself but decided it wasn't worth the time to research and do since I'd only see it about once every 10 days and only for a few seconds.

You can change your boot animation without rooting your phone, however it requires the use of the Android SDK. The instructions are here:

I personally prefer the root method, it is much simpler and easier IMO.
