Help I need advise on the Galaxy S model

I'm planning to buy a Samsung i9000 Galaxy S and I'm in doubt when it comes to selecting the 8GB or the 16GB model.

In any case the great amount of storage it handles is 32 GB, so with the price differences I'm not sure if it is best to buy a 16GB one or with the same money, to buy a 8 GB one and an extra 16 GB micro SD card, geting a total of 24 GB against the total of 16 GB I'd get if I buy the 16 GB one.

Can some of you guys give me an opinion?

Few things you should consider-

1.) 2 gb of memory is exclusively used for installing apps and games from the market. So in a 8 gb model you would only get around 5.5 gb for storing songs etc while in a 16 gb model you would get around 13.5 gb.

2.) Incase you are buying an external memory card do not fall in the ebay trap and buy a fake memory card. Do the research properly so you are not duped. Many are duped because of fake memory cards these days.
 
Are you sure that a 8gb GSG plus a quality 16 gb SD card equals 16gb SGS?
If you buy 8gb SGS and some 16gb sd card, one day you might counter a problem, you post it to this forum, and one of the geeks ask you "Which class is your SD card?". You take a look at it and see that your cheap but high storage SD card is Class 2 and, performance is dropping because of it.
I don't know how the performance of our SGS depends on that, but there is a great gap between Class 2 and Class 6 SD cards, both in price and performance(Reading/Writing rates).

Besides that, if you find any good Class 6 16gb SD card, go ahead and buy it then buy a 8gb SGS, of course it doesn't make you spend more than buying a 16gb SGS. But think about buying a 16gb SGS now and buying a 16gb SD card next year. I think these are some of the options :)

And another thing to keep in mind is that, for what do you buy this thing? Is the reason requiring plenty of storage capacity? I mean why would you have 32gb while you need only 6 of it?
 
hi i am new to the galaxy s am wanting to sinc my itunes libar. have followed a thread ion how to. have inserted 16gb sd card. i have dowloaded itunes agent and still my computer is not reconising devise for a mounting process. can anyone help.

Have you checked out other apps for syncing your itunes library into ur phone out there in the app market? Well, im sure there are other great apps out there.
 
I foolishly bought a cheap memory card off ebay.

A few days later I got an email from ebay saying they had removed the item because it was believed to be counterfeit.

Still waiting for my paypal dispute to go through so I can get my money back.

I don't know about the prices in the US, but in Turkey, that's not normal. Are you sure that it is a Class 6?
And I want to stress that I don't know how a SD card affects performance. I just know it affects. So, maybe it doesn't matter so much. I just don't want to misinform you.
