the specs arent possible because the MSM8960 chip referred to in the article isnt even available to the market yet
And i think HTC CEO/President or something mentioned dualcore devices would be around 2nd half of 2011, not LTE devices.
It was posted on a blog as an edit when they ran a story about the new specs supposed specs. Anyone who posts and edit or redaction of sorts probably has good reason to. You are correct it might not be true, but considering how long this phone has been seen in pretty much its current form for 6+ months i would just guess it didnt have a dual core that soon in the game.

No, the CEO actually said in an interview that HTC wouldn't have an LTE device until second half of 2011.

Yeah, I read the article, and it didn't say "only a requirement for tablets". The article itself just happened to be just talking about tablets. However, one could think that since its still the Android OS, that it would apply to the android smartphones. And even if it doesn't, if the HTC Thunderbolt is released with a 1Ghz processor, that was released in the U.S in January of LAST year, that's just not cool. When I buy my next "Dream phone", it should be advanced in technology, not just stay the same, especially when competitors like Moto and LG are using advanced technology in their hardware.
Lol, thats a different article, and that's a question in the title. That means nothing.
I know, but it basically states that nobody knows if it will be a Tab only or Dual Core only OS. Just fans you alls argument more!

you are still overlooking the fact that honeycomb is a tablet os. that is how it was announced and i dont believe anything different has ever been stated. why in the hell would they develop a version of the os specifically for tablets then put it on small 4" devices, they wouldnt.

no, lets keep arguing until specs are released, thats whats fun about forums!![]()
For you not me![]()
Regardless. We can sit here and try to interpret, however your original comment was that your not buying a HTC because of it not having a dual processor.
Actually there are a butt load of phones that technically should get Gingerbread, yet are not cable due to the processor noted in both of these articles.
We are about to enter murky water here in debating this, let's just move on and wait to something official in said.

Did you mean Honeycomb? Gingerbread has no hardware requirements.
Battery technology will not change for a while. They are still figuring out small quirks with Li-ion. Dual cores are here NOW. So, asking for a dramatic battery technology discovery is pointless. Asking for this phone to have dual core is reasonable and expected. I really don't know why you would skip on such a boost.
Oh you read somewhere that HoneyComb was only going to be for Tablets? I've never seen or heard that before.
Pretty much any story written about Android tablets mentions this. They talk about how Froyo is not optimized for tablets, whereas Honeycomb is. Nobody involved in Honeycomb has ever said anything about it going on a phone. The only ones who are are the people reporting on it. They're looking at these OSs like they will available for any Android device when the people involved in it (Google, manufacturers) have not commented either way. Until Google comes out and says that Honeycomb will be available for all devices, no one can say for sure.
As far as calling someone out reporting what they read, I'm assuming that's how you've gotten your info. The internet is pretty big, is it possible someone else may have read something you have not? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just saying there's no reason to get confrontational with people when both sides are getting their info from tech blogs who it seems like 50% of the time are reporting on rumor or speculation. Let's give the Mods & Guides a break, they've got a long few days ahead for them with CES on the horizon.
