I highly recommend a wipe data and cache but I know a few would rather not. My only request is please do not say report a bug or ask for support unless you have wiped data and cache first. If the issue persists then repot the bug.

I've been testing versions of PEv4 for weeks now, and I have to say I love this ROM and it loves my Droid.

Wow, this ROM flies! Stock kernel at 1.1ghz and 1435 on Quadrant. I had no idea my phone could be this snappy! I can run LauncherPro again, too! I think this will stay on my phone for quite a while.

Gave it a shot and had a few issues.. constant force closes using voice search and my browser app (xscope) stopped working because I think the ROM deletes the stock browser. The other thing in noticed was that one of my apps just would not update period.. didn't matter what I tried, it just couldn't get a location fix, yet every other app that uses location worked without a problem..

Everytime I try and load this rom I have tried with Clockwork and SP RECOVERY I get a message saying its bad and it aborts the install. I am downloading from a computer tried with google chrome, then with mozillla firefox, and then with Explorer getting the same message each time. I created a folder on my sd card to load with Rom Manager.. then I of course changed the name to update.zip and put in root of sd card and flashed to sprecovery and tried to load it. same thing happens each time. any ideas please.. I am using Ultimate Droid 2.5 now and want to try this cause I hear great things..TIA

Ok, So coming from Shadow Rom and I am very impressed. The only thing I do miss is the drop down widget buttons on the notification bar, but I guess I can live without because the battery life on this ROM is outstanding. With most other ROMS I was having to charge after a few hours of use. I flashed this last night and been using it a lot, still at 50% -- AWESOME!!

I also miss the ability to cut out the boot animation, but oh well.

I DO have one issue that I cannot fix though :(
--- I use K9Mail because I think its the best program. It lets you choose a different notification ring for each account and for some reason it will only play Filer "Nice Shot" which I don't even see as an option in the selections. While I like filter, I get about 50 emails a day on this account and I dont want to listen to this whole song that many times. I have tried fixing permissions, unistalling and reinstalling, changing tone and then rebooting, but I keep getting Filter--- Anyone have an ideas???

Thanks
Jim

jimmy, I use K-9 mail as well, and I haven't seen this issue at all. My chosen notification ringtones (and LED notification color) for my accounts in K-9 work exactly as they should on this ROM. Did you wipe and start clean before you installed the ROM?

Have you tried downloading the ROM using your Droid browser?

Hey i just have 1 problem.. how i can fix it? when i change song with volume controls... all the song star to change and i cant stop it.. how i can fix it?

Love the ROM, it's amazing and a lot faster than anything else I've used.

One question though. How do I change the color of the clock when it's docked and goes into screensaver? I hate that ugly greenish color.

Thanks.

Well, there's a tradeoff. The ROM includes the updated Google DeskClock that actually can be set using voice actions. The DeskClock that was altered by devs (CM, I think) to allow you to change the clock color can't be set by voice actions. For me, it was more important to be able to change the clock color than to be able to set it by voice command, so I switched the clock out with one from a previous ROM that had that option.

If you want one with the color change options, PM me.

Okay, I'm attaching the DeskClock with the color change options in update zip format, which you can install from recovery just like a theme or kernel, without wiping.

Here's the thing, though. I always theme my DeskClock and I can't remember precisely which ROM/version I took the stock version of this DeskClock from before I themed it (which means if I find a stock version in what I think may be the right ROM, it may not actually be the one we're looking for, because they're all named the same). So to be sure I'm giving you the one with the color change options, I'm uploading my themed version (it's themed in NexTheme fashion, with a couple of different images from elsewhere thrown in). I've attached the launcher icon, as well, so you can see what it looks like before you install this.

Please make a backup before you flash this update zip!

Hi

This is my favorite ROM but I have a couple questions for devs.

1. Is there a way to uninstall google talk and gmail?

2. I don't see anything in prefs about blacklist but I do see an option to add a number to the blacklist when longpressing in call log? Is there a way to look at it?

Thanks for the great ROM

By the way... 1571 quadrant score. :)

If you have Root Explorer (and if you don't, I highly recommend it because it's really a must-have app), you can go to /system/app, tap Mount R/W at the top and delete Gmail.apk and Talk.apk. You might want to think about copying those apks to your SD card first, or simply renaming them to Gmail.apk.bak and Talk.apk.bak and leaving them where they are, in case you find you need them back.

Did anyone notice a drop off of performance a couple days into using the ROM? I loved 3.0 and couldn't get 3.5 to run as well as 3.0. I tried 4.0 and had a crazy slow down after about 2 days of use. I've been thinking of trying it again, just wondering if it was just me?

Thanks!

I don't know if it's just you, but that certainly hasn't been my experience (and I've been running it since well before it's December 22nd release). I also haven't seen any other complaints about this from others, either here, or at DF or the Project Elite forum.

I habitually use Cache Cleaner to clear cache, and every few days, I use Titanium Backup to clear unneeded items from Dalvik Cache. I also don't use compcache on any ROM (I never even tried it on PE), as I've experienced extreme slowdown and lag on every ROM I've used it on.
