Help Google Maps crashing after updating to 5.0.

Hi ,
After updating to 5.0 the google maps keeps crashing. Also it is taking too much time to load the maps.
Also the waether widget is not detecting my location for weather update.
Also the battery indicator showed maximum battery is being used by the google maps

I'd try going into each individual app's/widget's application manager (menu > settings > applications > manage applications) and clear all cache, data and defaults.

Reboot, then configure each one being careful to provide for them to sync manually rather than autosync.
