What is Att going to do to this phone?

I have no problems being a first adopter of this phone. I was one of the first to get a Moto phone back in the day (1990-91):

Motorola MicroTAC (Yes, I still have it.)

I was also one of the early testers of this famous Motorola phone back in 2004:

Motorola RAZR V3 (Still have that one too.)

Not worried one bit about Motorola quality. Let's hear it for the ATRIX 4G! :)

You forgot the startac!!

I had that too, but it wasn't one of my favorites really. :) Those two stick out more than any others for me. Also loved the E815 I had when I was with Verizon.

So far I only deal with Motorola just for the reception alone. My first foray with Moto was the E815....

A few years ago, while on Verizon 2 phones from one company didnt work at all in the subway systems. Had bad reception at my job and home (I lived near my job, that area is just bad coverage for Verizon period.)

Got the Droid 1, look at that, it works in the subway system and works better at my job. Droid X same thing, and it had better reception than my Droid 1.

Going from the E815 to the 2 phones I had before the Droid 1 and X, I thought the subway problem was Verizon. Turns out it was the phone. So yea..I trust Motorola's quality too.

Good to know

Do you guys think that Motorola told anyone handling the Atrix that they couldn't go into the settings or was the phone not far enough along to look through? If there's going to be a January release like a lot of people are thinking I would think that the phone would be pretty much final at CES. The reason I ask is because I was wondering if anyone who got a hands on tried to look at the settings and see if sideloading was disabled? I haven't seen any site mention that they tried.

I just posted an update from best buy in a thread check it out

Good luck if you need help just ask. Me I am torn between the Atrix and the inspire. Everytime I weigh the pros and cons its almost even

Cool. I was in the same boat but I realized that if I went with HTC, I would have basically the same phone as everyone else (that has an HTC device of course) sense they have been making phones nearly identical lately.

I can't see this phone going for more than $199 on a two-year agreement with AT&T. The way I look at it is that when the first 4G phone, the EVO, came out, it went for $199 on a two-year agreement, so why can't the first dual-core processor phone go for the same? It can, and I'm sure it will. I think that AT&T will charge $199 for the phone, and maybe another $199 for the laptop dock, $149 for the multi-media dock, and $49 for the standard dock. Just a guess.

They won't sell any multimedia docks if they try to get $150 for it.

yeah, $150 for a veritable hdmi connection and usb hub would be outrageous; if it's more that $75 I don't think it's worth it. Even then I'll probably just buy a mini hdmi cable myself and use one of my current usb hubs. (with a USB OTG cable)

It's $40 for the standard dock, and really, the dock doesn't add that much, just the USB ports as they already sell docks with HDMI ports for $40 anyways. All of the webtop stuff goes in within the phone, so I'm guessing they sell the multi-media dock as just the standard dock, at $40, maybe $50.

I want this phone bad however I'm torn because I've been so spoiled from rooting and owning a bloat free device... I think the only way I would get this phone is if I bought it outright and it didn't have the att Branding or bloatware. Still the locked bootloader will piss me off. Uggggh why couldn't this just come with semi stock 2.3 like the bionic. I'm so pissed right now.

I'm really on the fence guys. I may just hold out for an att version nexus S. This atrix phone has the makings of a tragedy written all over it. Arrrrggggh FU*K YOU MOTOROLA!!!!
