Sprint and David Blaine Showing that

Considering the impossible possible theme? Froyo for the Epic4G! :p

Ah, so we meet again, pastafarian, if indeed that's your real name!

So, to clarify this position of yours, you favor the 2.2 on the 4G over the 3D for the 1st on the 7th, is that it?

I'm on to your game - with all those numbers, you're trying to tangle this up worse than a plate of... plate of... well, plate of something tangled, that's what!

I think they're going to unveil for the first time anywhere, your true identity, pastafarian - or should I say..... Mr. David Blaine!!

Who is pastafarian?

He is supposed to be Turkish. Some say his father was German. Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for pasta.

You never knew. That was his power.

The greatest trick the noodles ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone.

But me - I'll be looking for him on the 7th.

pastafarian is a fake! ( i found his true identity)

some say he likes to pose as a floating plate of pasta
others say he the inbread spawn of chuck norris

All we know is hes the stig!

Oh, and to stay on topic? I think the announcement will be the first phone with an integrated toaster. Lets see Steve top that!

all good theories; What is going to happen, is they are going to magicly turn on 4g throughout the entire nation; then refund us all that have paying this bs $10 extra data charge.

That would not be a first, Nokia had a gaming phone years ago that never quite caught on.

Also, I would like to suggest a separate "Unmask Pastafarian" thread!

If it played PSP or PlayStation games, it would be the first phone to play games from a major console. Not saying this is what will be released. Whatever it is, it will probably fail to match the hype.

And frankly, I'm not worthy.

So I have looked into, but need a disclaimer here.

I have, a long time ago, gave up on trying to figure what sprint is doing. Because their minds are fill with twist, dead ends, and turns that makes your head hurt to try to figure it out. So I will not try that guessing game.

SV-DO would need to be built out, like wimax. You would need new phones/chips to do it, like wimax. You would be the only carrier to support i in the world, not like wimax. You would have to upgrade every tower, like wimax. Using SV-DO would increase bandwidth use, while decreasing throughput of the network, unlike wimax.

Doing SV-DO would be a huge waste of time, in my opinion. But I think alot of things that carriers do is a huge waste of money and time, so I guess I am not in charge.

BUT...

Guess who was at the meeting? They might just decide to do it, costing themselves millions of dollars, adding more confusion to the system, and digging themselves deeper in the hole.

I've figured it out! Sprint and David Blaine are going to make all the time we have wasted speculating on this disappear forever!:D

Hmmm...this looks interesting, maybe he'll tell everyone to reach in their pockets to find a brand new superphone..one can hope :(

If our phones already have separate radios, why would we need new devices, and not just a firmware update?

IIRC THat's how WiMax and 1xRRT work.

Because the radios in all the phones that I know of will not support sv-do. You would have to do the fcc clearance too support the current phones, if they did have the radio. But I will check on the specifics of the phones and try to determine what can upgraded to svdo. I will also try to find out if sprint has been adding the capabilities to their towers. I can not promise anything, but I will try to find out.

Well if Sprint had any forsight, they may have snuck the hardware in right under our noses then. I know they've been testing for over a year now.

We'll see eh?

I'll be interested to see what you find.
