Help search facility not working on apps market

My partner cannot use the search facility any more on the apps market. When he goes into market the search facility is showing but when he presses it nothing happens. Can anyone help?

I've posted a thread earlier, 'Updated Market for 2.1'.. Download the 2.3 style market & install...

If the above doesn't work, (I had the same problem with the latest updates) try going into your settings > apps, locate the market app and clear your cache and also clear your data.

That worked for me.
