^^That's a good walk through.
I'm trying to install SDK Tools and it is requesting me to download Java Development kit, but I'm not finding for a 64-bit system. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you

May I ask, why are you installing the Android SDK?
For future use?
I only ask because it wasn't necessary for rooting or flashing, unless of course you want to reboot into recovery from the command line (wouldn't recommend for a beginner.)![]()
In that first video you posted it says to use the SDK to confirm the phone is there and to reboot into download mode... Is that part not necessary?
Also a quick question about the recovery. I noticed that when you boot into recovery its the stock recovery. It's from there that you go to the command 'install packages' and it runs the update.zip then it goes into clockwork recovery. Is that the norm on the cappy? On my EVO after i have installed an alternate recovery it's always there, I boot into recovery and it's the alternate that I installed. I'm not trying to compare apples to oranges, I'm just curious.

I was wondering if once the phone is flashed back I need to go into setting again and put the phone back into usb debugging mode?
On the Odin software if you select start instead of master clear does that unroot your phone?
I've been reading your help just now and I'm looking at flashing a custom ROM 2.2.1 to my phone. I've already played around with rooted 2.1 and 2.2 but can't get my phone to successfully reinstall packages after I've flashed back, deleted the update.zip, and reinstalled packages. I get a failed and abort message. Any idea?
I did exactly this after finding a walkthrough online and the phone is running great with Cog 3.03. Thanks for the help.
