Help Manually Updating to 2.1 (ending with .24)

I've realized how many people got the update to a build number which ends with .24.

I am still stuck at 0.504 and when I try to use the Sony Companion to update my firmware, it says my phone is on its latest one.

Is there anyway to manually update to .24? I would love to start ROOTing my phone and start using Froyo2.2, which the people at XDA-Developpers have beautifully created!

Only certain regions got the .24 update. I never received it but I still managed to install the ROMs on XDA

Have you tried using Sony Ericsson Upgrade Service? That seems to have worked for more people.

That's what I tried using when I was on stock ROM, but it said I had latest update

I misunderstood, I thought you used Sony PC Companion and I was recommending SEUS.

Well the OP did mention PC Companion, so you wasn't wrong to advise SEUS
