XOOM or Atrix?

Is anyone considering the XOOM over the Atrix. I know a tablet experience differs from a smartphone but some of the usage is similar. I'm really considering the XOOM now that it's confirmed that Honeycomb will support Hardware acceleration and multi core support. This will fully utilize the Dual core processor and allow for the UI to be silky smooth just like iOS. Also with the Atrix, there's no telling whether it will see an update past Gingerbread and that's even assuming Honeycomb becomes compatible with smartphones by then.

I don't really want to spend the money on a tablet. I had an iPad but I found myself reaching for my iPhone more often. I'm really excited about Honeycomb having hardware acceleration. Smoothness is defiantly a plus of iOS and having that in Android would be phenomenal. Although we probably won't see this on a phone until the next crop of phones come out.

Exactly and I'm too impatient to wait for that next crop. I'm probably still going to get the Atrix but the thought of Honeycomb has me salivating right now.

After reading this it does make me want the Xoom I just don't know if I will be able to hand over that much cash to get one. Of course I dropped $700 on the iPad and didn't blink an eye so maybe it's not as hard as I think it is.

Well I want the Xoom and the Atrix but I don't want to sign a contract with Verizon. I have a 64GB WiFi + 3G iPad I will be selling for a Honeycomb tablet. There is talks of a WiFi only version coming in April but who knows if that will come to the US since it was announced by the Latin American division of Motorola. I may buy the Xoom from Verizon then break the contract and use the WiFi part of it but I'll wait till MWC to see if there are more announced.

That just made me want the XOOM even more ... Damn you :D

I'm also not enthused about a contract. I mean for $700 it should be off contract anyway. One could easily tether their smartphone with the XOOM. I wouldn't mind getting both but there's no way I could convince my wife that spending that much money would be beneficial for us. For me, yea but she already hates my obsession with android and anything that has to do with android. LOL

LOL, well I know I'll get at least $700 for my iPad so that would cover the Xoom and my wife already knows I'm getting the Atrix so its not a huge deal with her.
