Root Two things to make this work perfect.

I rooted my phone a while back.. Think it was in november. So every once and a while I get a force close, I just came back from reboot after a fix permissions. Got one when I first got running again. Do you guys get these every once and a while and deal with it, or is there something I can do to troubleshoot?
Accellerometer is not working, it kind of works, if you open up an app with the phone positioned on way, it will open that way, but if you turn phone it won't work. I've followed the guides to root, then get rid of bing, then renamed the apps that were said can be removed.
This is my second root from scratch, first time I was getting force close errors, tried again to see if I could fix it. Second time around, accellerometer not working right.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this without starting over?

My question is, aside from root itself, what have you done? Im assuming you have cwr installed...but have you flashed any particular roms/kernels/mods?

Have you deleted/frozen/renamed any files?

I rooted, then installed voodoo kernel, didn't change roms. I just read newer kernels are available in rom manager, should I update my kernel, I don't see a menu for kernel, just roms.

what voodoo kernel do you have? is it a voodoo5 kernel with red recovery (post 11/25 or so) or is it an old voodoo kernel

rom manager isnt the best source for kernels...check saps thread http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/235766-one-stop-shopping-sf-kernels.html

i do believe it is an older one.
should i start from scratch, or just try and upgrade kernel?

Well you have a few choices. You could disable voodoo and then flash a newer voodoo5 kernel and see how that goes

My recommendation though would be to get titanium backup to backup your apps and app data...push the odin dio1 all in one file that will erase data and restore you back to stock.

From there you would push cwr in odin as well as either the dj05 or dl09 radios....download a dj05 or dl09 rom. (They're prerooted)....put the rom on your sdcard, boot into cwr and flash it...,now you ll be rooted with cwr on dj05 or dl09

Then check out saps kernel page and pick out some voodoo 5 kernels to try....start with maybe jt 1/23 and flash that....this will give you red voodoo recovery....then make a backup in red recovery and only use red recovery to flash things and backup restore

did as you said, backed up, started from scratch, installed dl09 radio, the supaclean rom. and the 1/23 kernel.
works like a charm.. and much faster than it was prior.
Thanks a lot for your help.
