Would you switch to iPhone if Sprint ever got it?

I know everybody here seemingly hates Apple, but if Sprint came out with the iPhone, would any of you switch to it? Don't get me wrong, I love my Evo, but I'd still strongly consider switching to the iPhone. I have an iPod touch right now which I love so I have to figure the iPhone would replace both my Evo and iPod, sort of a "2 birds one stone" kind of thing. So, what say you?
 
I'm not sure, but like you, I'd also give some serious consideration even though I love my rooted EVO. Like you, I also bought an iPod touch not long after buying my EVO because as good as Android is, as of right now the apps just aren't even close to the iPhone's in terms of quality (even though Android phones have better hardware and the the apps will catch up within a year or 2). If the iPhone does come out for Sprint, I would be able to replace both my EVO and iPod touch, so I wouldn't need to carry around 2 devices. While I'd be losing out on 4G, being able to consolidate 2 devices sure would be tempting.
 
I have been thinking about this also. I have played with an Iphone 4 at the Apple store here and love the retina display. If the Iphone had a big screen like my EVO, it would be hard to say no to it. I love Android but I would not mind trying something new out. I might have to give it the 30 day trial.
 
I was offered an IPhone free of charge and turn it down, then bought a Android phone for $299 - now what does that tell you. Hehe.
 
Yes, in a heartbeat. The iPhone's OS is way more refined than Android and the hardware is leaps and bounds better.

Apple stated that the CDMA iPhone is NOT Verizon exclusive. So, there is a possibility for Sprint!
 
I wouldn't get one at all. But I would get one for my mom because it is a very simple straight forward, shall I say even boring, phone. It would be easy for her to use. For me on the other hand it is way to boring and restricted. I used to think it was a 'cool' phone. Then I bought an ipod touch and was over it.

Agreed, the iPod touch taught me an invaluable lesson. It was boring within a day. Yet, my launch-day EVO is still keeping my happy. Glad I never fell into that trap, and the crap that ATT would have brought along with it.
 
Can't think of a reason why I'd switch unless there was something it offered that Android phones don't that I want. I enjoy that Android allows every phone to look and work just a little bit different according to owner/user preference. I don't want to have to adjust what I want to what iPhone has.

I definitely think it's an option for people who just want to plug and play and have it look like everything else they have in their iTunes/iMac/iOS world, but it's just not that compelling to me.

The only thing I like more about the iPhone is that some of the apps simply work better. That's not because of the phone though, that's because it's easier to develop for an unfragmented OS even if it is locked down.

If iPhones allowed user customization, I'd consider it.

Most people I deal with hav an iphone & so want my Epic (there are a few that hav switched too)... things they can't do are way more than things we can't do...

I lean towards your answer... even though I don't necessarily agree with the Android fragmentation thing. :)

As of now, no. I don't think that'll change with the next iteration of the iPhone, either. It's just not enough of a device for my needs right now.
 
Only reason I was tempted to get an iPhone was for the music player, but PowerAMP for the most part fixed that for me, and in the future other aps might even work better than PowerAMP. iPhone still has the advantage of iTunes, but it's not that complicated for me to just drag and drop folders instead of using a fancy program.

I'm also addicted to Swype, and the fact I can easily find an even better keyboard if I took the time. Not sure an iPhone offers anything like that.

Now if the iPhone ends up with enough exclusive aps to use it as a remote for other things I personally own, than I might be tempted to switch. For the most part though, I'm fine where I am right now.

I'm curious as to why you list that bloated crapware called iTunes as a benefit?
 
A newer version with LTE or WiMax hell yeah, say what you want about the iPhone but the staggering amount of apps it has under it's wings combined with the number of developers (not just small guys but huge companies alike) developing on the platform would make me switch in a heartbeat. If that's the Feb 7th annoucments (which I know it isn't) I might stick around but it's not so Verizon Thunderbolt here I come. No, I will not get last year's iPhone on Verizon I'll leave that to the suckers who'll re-buy a new iPhone yet again come June.
 
If I still had a blackberry I would make the jump to the iphone. But now that I have an evo im sticking with android.
 
I dont know. It would be a tough choice. Like the initial poster, I have had an ipod touch forever, and it would seem like a chance to merge devices. I started thinking today about the reasons for having an ipod touch. Essentially everything it can do can be done on my evo, so the question I had to ask myself is why I often found myself using my ipod for apps and music. I think the answer is two-fold. 1. I personally am a creature of habit. I like the familiar interface the ipod offers. 2. The apps really arent close in comparison. I have had the evo for a while, and I have had the ipod touch and then the ipad for a short while. Apple just has way more developers right now. I like the idea of having both something from apple and android. With that being said, I could foresee either an iphone/galaxy combo or sticking with my android phone/ipod touch (ipad) combo. I really think it's just a preference thing.
 
I already have an iP4 with AT&T (work), and barely use it since I got the EVO on Sprint ..

The iPhone [2G sucked ; 3G was fun ; 3GS was what 3G should've been to begin with ; iP4 is interesting solely because of the hardware from previous generations but software is now ..blah] has been a fun journey.

Coming from Symbian, iphone seemed like a dumb/toy phone that worked great and made my *wireless* life easier [esp. for exchange mail] with it's simplicity.

Today, I wouldn't go back to the iPhone anymore!! Android works great and suffices everything I expect from a smart phone OS. There are areas where Android still needs to polish up to get to iOS's level, but I have faith [and stock lol] in Google.
 
I don't knock iPhone for what it does. It's clearly different, and it did push the way people think about and use smartphones more than most other phones had previously.

I just talked to a friend about the iP4 (who's considering jumping to VZW to get it), and I just couldn't see the "wow" any more. I also think iP4 will inch closer to being yet another product as it will now be avaible to almost 200mil people on just two carriers. The amount of customer pull to the middle is going to be tremendous, and I just don't think iProducts will continue to be innovative (note - I never said leading-edge).

I thought of 1 and only 1 reason why I'd end up with an iP4 - if I won it in a raffle. Even then, I wouldn't keep it and that bad boy would be on eBay in a heartbeat.
