[Ubuntu Image] 1st really working simple to install Ubuntu on your phone - xda-developers

fully functional on my CM6.1.2!! :D:D:D

Seriously, though, other than installing to see if it can be done, what's the benefit? I run mint, and it's good for a PC/laptop, but Android is dedicated to optimize mobile devices. (True, I did dl Android to run on my laptop, hehe, they have a bootable liveCD.) Seems like Overkill to me, like wearing boots to the beach on a sunny day. Eh?

^^because it can be done! and so i can show off the icrap people what an android can do^^^

Not knocking you at all, but is that the sole benefit? Don't get me wrong, I dig ALL of the stuff that a rooted Android device can do, I'm just seeing if this is something I would be interested in. Hell, I even like the barely functional Gingerbread ROMs for nothing more than a proof of concept.

yea, there really is no other benefit :D

Some of the greatest functionality we get out of things was started by doing things that had no perceived benefit. You never know what might come from the ability to run a much more full OS like this. Right now it seems kind of useless, but who knows...
