DHD vs. Nokia 5800 sound quality

Hi, I'm new here, and since I haven't been able to find the info I needed, thought I should ask here. I have Nokia 5800 and I want to buy DHD, but the only thing that I really care about is sound quality. Not over the speaker, headphones only (I have Sennheiser MX 60 Street)! My Nokia has great audio quality with equaliser settings, and I just want to know if DHD has better audio quality? I really want this phone, but this is very important to me! If someone had both phones, please reply! Thank you very much!!!

I've had both phones, and I dont think there is much between them, but then again, I wasn't using Sennheiser headphones.

The speaker on the other hand is absolute rubbish compared to the 5800

It's not just Sennheiser, I really like Nokia's sound quality, and I hope that Desire is better or at least the same... Btw, have you tried using Nokia's headphones adapter (with music controls) on DHD? Does it work? Thanks!

The 5800 has the better quality, though when using my Skullcandy headphones, the DHD has the better quality.

Never tried the headphones, I need the big ones, since I have a wound in my ear.

I tried 5800 headphone adapter, but sadly it doesn't work with DHD. Controls don't work, and sound is very distorted. Bit of a shame really.

i went from the 5800 to dhd too.
the nokia speakers were the best i've ever had on a phone, the dhd is so quiet in comparison.

The thing is that the DHD has some newly designed sound circuits in it, making it one of the best qualities on the market right now when it comes to headphone plug ins. It boosts the sound and should make it more clear from what I've gathered. I'm at least very happy with the sound quality coming out of my DHD, and I use it daily with Spotify Premium !

As for the controllers, I would recon the Nokia system would not work on the DHD, as Nokia have been HUGE fans of making their own systems for as long as they have existed. Me (and basically any other real consumer in the world) would wish the companies could create standards on EVERYTHING, so as to give us users the full choice. And companies are starting to agree on standards, however they are always trying to find loop holes in this standard and create their own versions to get monopoly on the system, and it's really frustrating. If you want a music controller that will work cross-platform, you will highly likely need to buy it from a company that is independent from the phone (e.g. jabra, senheiser, etc) . It sucks, but thats how it is

Wow, thanks for the info, didn't know that... Yeah, the sound is great, but I feel like there's something missing... Maybe it's just me... Well, this means I have to buy a new pair of Sennheiser headphones, with controls.. Can anyone recommend something?

Maybe what you miss is an equalizer? But honestly, I find that most equalizers are completely useless. Mostly the standard settings are already put by the record company to the actual song so they fit. So if the song is meant to be bass heavy it is, if it isn't its not meant to be .

However, what I find, is that the quality of the actual headphones matter most. Which headset gives the best/most accurate sound? Ofc if you like bass heavy no matter what, then buy headphones that boost the bass.

Personally I'm using some highly recommended earphones from a Swedish company called JAYs. In almost all reviews of their products, they get high scores, and in tests, they often beat most of the other sound manufacturers (not because their quality is THE best, but because you get very good quality for a great price). Many of their headphones are small, but powerfull and give very good sound. However, they have yet to have a headset with controls (however one is on its way, but it's been designed to work with iPhone and iPad. It MIGHT work on others, but I don't know )
