I didn't mean that they didn't ... I just posted the link to back you up. Sorry for any confusion.

I try very hard to just post what's out there and NOT post my opinions. I just want more info about the Bolt (and no drama if possible) and I thought everyone else might too. So, I scour the internet and forums and post what I find and leave it up to everyone else to form their own opinions.

Never saw the original funny though. Are you back interested in the TB or is the fascinate still going to hold you over till something else comes?

They can't change your contract. Might be a good reason to do a two year contract though....

I don't think they change it regardless of your contract (1 or 2yr). Usually you just get grandfathered in and they usually don't switch the plan on existing customers as long as you don't change plans.
 
Most people seem to feel that higher rates for 4G are inevitable. It's just a matter of time. Does anyone think that data rates will stay flat at $29?

I haven't been tracking the competition. What are Sprint and ATT charging for their monthly data rates?

What I'm trying to say, is that if the rates go up in 9 months when LTE is more widespread, and you have a one year contract, when you renew, you will pay more a year from now. IF you get a two year contract, you will be locked in at the low price for two years. Are you trying to say that if you let the one year expire, and you go month to month, that it will stay at the lower rate until you make a change?

That is my understanding of how it works but I am by no means an expert. Perhaps somebody with better knowledge of Verizon can chime in?

Cannot speak for the data plans, but my wife and I have had the same contracted voice plan for the past 6 or 7 years. Only time it changed was when we (last week) upped the minutes to 1400 and added an unlimited data to my phone.

I got a Droid X and was led to believe that I will be able to exchange it for the TB when it comes out. If it is soonish, that is.
 
For the ad with th TB in it right beside it there is the Dinc for $99.99 with a 2 year contract. I know verizon was giving these away for free with a 2yr contract. Does this mean the TB will be overpriced due to Best Buy? Will the price drop fast when it is released through VZW?

the inc has been $99 at vzw for a while now. typically best buy is cheaper than vzw.

On contract they are usually cheaper, but they seem to be higher off contract. I called into to see what they were pricing an X at compared to Verizon, to get an idea what a tbolt would be at full retail. Verizon was $570 online, BBY was $600.

Where I live, we get charged city and state tax on purchases. Our state tax is 4%. The nearest BBY is in the largest city in the state, with a city tax of 3%, but if I go through Verizon, their charge for city tax is the nearest town, which in my case is 1%.

The plusses for BBY is they still have a 30 day trial period and no restocking fee if you return it. Plus they are doing a 3 week promo ending Feb. 26th allowing you to join their Buy Back Program for free.

Just something to think about if you're really watching your nickels & dimes.
