[ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [05/23/11]

ah ok I've heard people using but never how lol

I would suggest taking a look through Decad3nce's thread to see which combinations may work best. There is some good information there pertaining to the tweak. I know the thread has gotten big but there's some good stuff in there when you have some spare time to browse it.

okie dokie....

I've seen two other posts regarding this and in this forum, and no solution that's worked for me, so I'll give 'er a go...

the market will not download anything, neither when I've selecting all the the google apps that are suggested at start-up, nor when I just search around and try to download something else. when i 'accept permissions' from the market for the download, i'll quickly look in notifications, it shows the download status bar (no progress, just initial jiggly stripes) and then it disappears.

I've flashed the rom three times, every time the same deal:

recovery... wipe data... wipe cache... format partition boot/data/system/cache/(not sd ;))... wipe davlik (the most recent attempt i wiped davlik 3 times, saw a post somewhere about it )....
flash Feb1st GB-ROM...then Feb1st GB-gapps... then FR-boot (i am running Firerat's partition mod "135 2", this seems to work => 323MB total space, 306MB available space)

all three times, no market download availability...

i'm still running this most recent attempt:
have killed market (via the long back press option from the development menu settings)... gone to app manager... all... the cleared cache (if available) on 'market', 'market apps installer', 'market feedback agent' and 'market updater' (everything with 'market' in front)...

fired up the market again... (it did not ask me to accept terms)... search for 'google voice'... try to download...

SAME SCHIZZ!?! hrmmmm......

what'd'ya think?

(running CWM Recovery 2.5.0.1, btw)

EDIT: found a post on XDA that a guy, removed Firerat's mod and his market worked. although this is a bummer of a solution, will try it later once the battery is a little more charged...

It happened to me too with the 2/1 rom. I'm using firerat mod. I just went back to the 1/28 rom and it works again

Thanks for the info

Think I found a bug may just be my phone but ringdroid the stock music player anything I downloaded would not find my music on my sd card so I got poweramp because you can pick the folders it scans.

Well the first time I opened it found everything no picking folders. Well now the only way that any other app will find the music is if I use poweramp and set a song as a ringtone. And yes all of my music is .mp3 format and yes its on my sd card in a folder named Music.

I also tried using root explorer to put an mp3 into my internal ringtone folder and it still wouldn't find it. only reason I mention it so long after downloading 2.3 is that I was more worried about the loop problem.

Speaking of loop problem I downloaded applanet again today well I got a random reboot and it looped on the cm7 animation I'd have to say 6 or more times I was driving do not sure maybe more or less but 6 is close...anyways after it looped it booted fine then done another random reboot but no loop. Could that app be screwing with my phone? I don't think so because the app never asked for su access so how could it change anything?

If something doesn't make sense I'm on the phone now trying to set swype up AGAIN this is so aggravating. Any ideas are good ideas thanx for reading

I'm using the fire ray mod with 328mb internal available and my market world great its never been so fast...i just used the basic wipe flash recovery then rom them w/e other stuff like gapps kernels matt tweaks them the fr boot then just reboot. Only reason I told u was i saw a link on that post with kinda overwhelming set of instructions where you had to use the adb shell

hey guys, today was the day i actually tried flashing into aosp 2.3 but when i go to CWM and pressed flash recovery then i get a message saying there was an error flashing recovery, am i supposed to boot into recovery and wipe everything and then flash or what exactly am i doing wrong?

Posted in your other thread, you flash a recovery once only, then you boot into recovery everytime you want to flash a new RoM and then follow the flash process I have posted before and you should be good to go

Boot to recovery
Go to Partitions menu
Format boot
Format system
Format cache
Format data
DO NOT FORMAT SD CARD

Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Go to advanced, press it, wipe Dalvik cache (do this 3 times), then press back

Flash AOSP 2.3 GB

Flash Gapps

thats the thing, it wont let me boot into recovery it just turns off my phone and then i see htc screen and right away it goes to a black screen

@BTK - In the clockwork mod rom manager, flash the alternate recovery and then go back and flash the clockwork recovery again. I think this souls set you straight.

@Phantom - i have tried doing that but i just get the same error message, i even tried uninstalling it and reboot phone and installed it again and same message

Make sure you fully update your version of ROM Manager. I could not get ClockworkMod recovery to flash to my Sprint HTC Hero either, until I fully updated it.

Just go into the Android Market, press Menu, and tap "My Apps" and see if ROM Manager needs an update. It may need several.

Have you tried flashing the alternate recovery? That is at the bottom of the ROM Manager screen. The alternate recovery is Amon RA recovery version 1.6.2. See if that works.

EDIT: Oops, I see you already tried that.

Did you flash the HTC stock RUU from the USB from your PC ?, then you would need to root again, then download CWM, then flash the recovery again

changelog hasn't been updated yet, has anyone flashed the 2/5 version yet?

I was wondering the same thing. I have been following the Android 2.3 ROM closely and it looks like it is about time for me to give it a shot. :)

I look forward to seeing what the latest update brings. Good stuff, I assume. ;)

come on in the water's fine

Not yet but many have and it seems to be working fine, make sure if you decide to flash over your existing GB Rom, then once you flash it then make sure you wipe Davlik Cache, and once you reboot your phone make sure you go to the market and update your SU app, it needs to be updated with this latest release
