Lurker
This morning I got a strange text message from 400000.
The text said

"//
BREW:0x01079633:!1|https://mymetro.bevocal.com:8443/services/bodcsapi-2.2.0|appName=NMC_METRO_CARE_CLIENT&appVersionId=0.0.0.2&configSetName=nmcLauncher#"

Going to the link "https://mymetro.bevocal.com:8443/services/bodcsapi-2.2.0" yielded nothing (seems to be a broken link)

I dont have an app named NMC_METRO_CARE_CLIENT and I'm sure I didnt delete it with Ti Backup...

but anyway it seems that it may be an announcement about 2.2 just wanted to see what you all thought

Nope, others have gotten the same or similar texts, it has nothing to do with Froyo, by all accounts. Huawei is the one who will release that update, not MetroPCS.

Huawei released a beta version for the C8600, which is similar but not identical to the Ascend(M860). The OS itself is up to the manufacturer to translate to their machines, this is why you don't see computer manufacturers hosting Windows updates on their support sites, only hardware and software they've added.

I called huawei costumer service located here in Plano, Texas (DFW area) and unfortunately was informed their is no update for our phone at this moment.
