Help Phone Turning Off

So last night when I plugged my phone in it was turned on and sometime over the night it turned off. I had an alarm set for 7:10 AM and the phone actually turned on at 7:10 and I awoke to the 'droid' sound. Anyone else experience this? Think it was a fluke?
 
Mine seems to have started turning itself off as well. I left it on charge last night and went to sleep, woke up in the night to check the time and the phone was off. My ipod alarm woke me up as my HTC alarm didn't go off because it had turned itself off again. It's turned itself off numerous times this morning since

Are you sure that the alarm didn't somehow just trigger a spontaneous reboot? Probably a fluke, unless it keeps happening.

Mine sometimes turns on, when left off and charging.

The power button on one of mine won't bring it out of standby, but will power the unit on and off as well as put it into standby.

I don't believe it is the power button physically, rather the circuity or logic that monitors and reacts to power button keypresses.

My guess on this will be poor ground integrity, which produces faulty boolean logic.
