Best Buy Details

I'm definitely taking all with a giant grain of salt and being hugely selective with what to trust. And even though Verizon has never provided an "official" date, I still can't help feeling a little aggravated by their antics here. Again, to give us all of these "coming soon" and "sooner than we expected" and "lightning strikes soon" teasers without at least a projected date is a bit much. Fine line between playful marketing and pissing people off in my mind. Plus, to allow deposits to be taken on a phone without the courtesy of an estimated arrival is at least discourteous.

I still have mostly a sense of humor about it all - it is just a phone after all - but how I feel treated by a company certainly influences my loyalty. So, would I buy an i*hone if Steve Jobs took me to a ballgame or something, well.....:)
 
I checked with @Miami1683 and he said there is no delay at the store level. He's checking for any delay higher up now. I'll let you know what I hear.

VZW store level that is.

I officially no longer trust droid-life.com . They are just going on from what droid attic said, and their claim is just ridiculous. It's no different then some random person posting and saying "My uncle who works at Best Buy Corporate just told me it's delayed til the end of March! IT"S SUPER OFFICIAL!".

Awesome new ad video + Atrix release pushed up + ads everywhere + blackmanx and Verizon's twitter saying 'February' and 'Sooner than expected' + Best Buy RSS systems matching up nicely = next week release for the thunderbolt. IMO

Our store shows the 21st as our in stock date with no street date. That is what my coworker from Mobile says. Sorry i can't get pics like Jay but i don't work in mobile so i can't access their computer.
 
I pre ordered on the 6th, and informed BB that I was buying it full price. I was told it didn't matter if you were upgrading or buying at full retail. I just called after reading this, and was told again that a pre-order is a pre-order and it didn't matter if you were upgrading or buying is straight out. JMTC :)
 
I really hope I would be allowed to buy it retail price...I am not up for a contract renewal or anything, but I am like the third preorder at my store. Would be silly if Best Buy said, "No, you may not give us 700 dollars."

LOL I know, it wuld be very silly. "Sorry, but we would rather give it to someone for $500 Less." Wouldn't go very far with alot of people. Aside from that, it would be very ingnorant for them to just assume (and not ask) that every person pre-ordering is upgrading.

I'm sure. I made certain that I verified it with the Mobile Dept manager as well, and he said basically that a sale is a sale. So I don't forsee any problems.
 
That would make the most sense, since we as a store make a crap ton of margin on a $750 phone that we spend $384.04 (or so) on

What did the store say about the release date? I stopped by a VZW corporate store this afternoon playing dumb asking about the 4g phone I saw on TV and the salesperson said it would be available by the end of the month.

Mine really didn't act like they knew much either. She said "soon" but they don't know when. They had a bunch of 4G LTE posters up that I didn't see last week though...
