MOTOROLA ATRIX *MB860* -- ((( System Dump )))

Here is the contents of the build.prop file, I don't see the ro.ril hsdpa or hsupa line in it though :/ :

I was just going through that on my computer, it's funny that you can tell what the default ringtone is already and that many of the items are still labeled Olympus. This is pretty cool; I don't know exactly what I'm looking at entirely, but I have messed around with similar stuff on my Tilt.

Is it possible that the hsdpa or hsupa is in a different spot? It has to have one or the other, right?

It should have it somewhere, but I can't/haven't find/found it yet. Of course, I haven't found it on my craptivate either, so :/ It is probably buried in an auxiliary file and called in the build file... I'm about halfway through the lib folder and haven't found it yet though...

granted, I am no programmer, so it is entirely possible I am overlooking it too...

Are you using a text editor to view the files?

Yeah, I have to switch boots to get into my SDK here on my laptop, why, do you think it would make a difference, or are you recommending using a "search" or "find" function?

PS I'm using gedit in Ubuntu 10.10 x64 if that makes a difference- it shouldn't though right?

I'm using a find function but I've never done anything like this before so I'm definitely not the person to ask.

I did find a reference to HSUPA in the framework.odex file in the framework folder. It's on line 84137.

To answer your question, I don't believe that would make a difference.

Could you copy/paste the line, I can't open the .odex files in gedit...

It's actually mentioned 5 times in that file.

For some reason my text editor won't let me copy the line. I"ll keep trying stuff, I'm using Notepad++ to view the .odex files, it's mostly garbage looking to me.

Yeah, it will be garbage-looking because I guess it is hex or something. Okay, if it is mentioned 5+ times that sounds like those lines are setting up to be called by instances elsewhere, maybe in the build file (where it counts)- especially since that is the odex for an apk- or maybe not- because it is the framework.apk. Don't worry too much or stay up too late on it, I'm going to check out here soon (too much text reading and brain-racking, and wishing I had paid better attention when people have done this stuff around me)... Thanks though for searching through those files.
