Looking for a photo editing app that actually finds photos

I am looking for a simple photo editing app. I downloaded Photoshop Express and fired it up. It only shows 2 photos, even though I have taken hundreds with my camera. These 2 photos its finding must have been created via another means and placed in some directory photoshop express looks for.

So then I downloaded Photo Edit Lite. When I opened this app it showed those same 2 photos, plus a bunch of other images that I can tell are levels from a game I downloaded. Again there is no way to tell it to browse for photos somewhere else on the phone.

Am I crazy or should a photo editing app be able to edit photos I've taken with the built in camera?? Are there any that do this? I don't need anything fancy, right now all I'm after is being able to adjust the brightness.

Its an HTC Incredible. I went into my camera settings, the storage is set to "Phone Storage". Does "Phone Storage" mean hide the photos from any other apps on the phone? I don't get it. Maybe apps aren't allowed to access files on the phone's internal storage?

I don't know what a .nomedia file is but I'll look into it.
 
FYI, you should store your photos on the sd card, not the phone's internal memory. The internal memory will fill up quickly and slow your phone down.

Depends on your phone. If you have 8gb of internal memory it doesn't really matter.

Personally I don't keep any on my phone at all. I upload them all to picasa then my gallery syncs with picasa
