sorry for the double post but the video is not private anymore. they just made it public in the last few minutes.

Also please notice it does not say "coming soon" or anything, this has to be a good sign right?
 
Verizon needs to be backhanded. We need some online petition of thousands who swear to switch to AT&T. Verizon is the worst carrier when it comes to product release schedule and people keep defending them by saying "Well they're just making extra EXTRA sure that everything works! "

No, they're just that bad at handling product launches. They take forever.

But people should vote with their pocket books.

Agree until people stop buying or switch carriers verizon wont change. Wish sprint had a little better coverage I would jump to them and grab an EVO 2 when/if its announced atleast sprint actually puts some info out there for their customers
 
Has it not occurred to ANYONE that VZW HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG? Come on people I am upset as well, but let's look at the FACTS:

They gave a timeline of 1 Qrt.
They have NOT gave a release date AT ALL.
They are NOW starting to market, new commericals magazine etc (to build hype).

What is there to not understand. This was the same with the BB STORM and HTC Incredible.

I concur. I would rather see a polished device at launch rather than to have a bunch of issues.

Verizon hasn't ever given a release date for this phone, the most they have said is 1st Quarter 2011, so please explain how Verizon has messed up this release? All the speculation on release dates come from "leaks" and blogs that know as much about the date as we do.

Again Verizon has until the end of March before we can call the phone delayed. Now do I think Verizon should step up and announce a solid release date because of all the speculation going on? Yes. However they aren't going to do that until they have one, which it would appear that they don't.

I just don't understand all the hate for Verizon and how much they messed up this launch.
 
I mean really. Also keep in mind based on the "visitors" for this Forum, Twitter and FB we represent about 1/100000000 of who is buying this.

No not at all, the Blackberry storm was given a release date same with the incredible they also allowed preorders for the incredible they didnt put it off like they are doing with the thunderbolt.

I disagree on the Incredible. We starting following the device in November of 2009. At first we were thinking the device would launch at CES last year. Then, we were hoping Mobile World Congress, then we were hoping CTIA. Finally, around April 18th they announced the device would go on Pre-Sale via their website on April 21st. Then, finally on the 28th of April it released. Nearly the same exact as the Thunderbolt. VZW has never promised a release date on either device until a few days prior to pre-sales. I would guess that same will happen with the Thunderbolt.

Seriously, why would Verizon put out a date unless they were 100% sure they could meet it. That is what at CES they didn't Say February release date. A lot could change between CES and February. They will announce the release date a week or so prior to releasing it. Just as they do with ALL devices. Never will they announce a release date more than a few weeks prior to release. And when they do announced it, you can bet it will not be pushed back.
 
If I switched to AT&T I wouldn't have a signal half the time. Why do you think all those AT&T Iphone customers switched to VZW , so they would have a decent signal all around the country. The people on these forums might make up 1-2% of vzw's customers If all of us refused to buy a Tbolt they would still sell them to other customers. Everyone raised hell with vzw before the Incredible launch and it didn't do any good , it won't now either. They will release it when they want to. They have never announced a release date, BB started dropping dates that weren't true. blame them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... just because they haven't announced it doesn't mean it wasn't delayed. Black_man_x said as much the other day. That's not what bothers me though.

I'll use the analogy I used elsewhere... they don't appear to have ANY plan. We are building a 60,000 sq ft building on campus. From permit to completion, the opening date has been April 1 for over a year. That date will hold. If Engineers, contractors, and our staff can coordinate to build a structure the size of a small mall and set a release date over a year ahead of time and KEEP it, why is it so impossible to set a release date for a stupid phone?!?!

Have then done anything wrong? Okay, no. Have they instilled me with a confidence that they know what they are doing? No. This all seems so "seat of the pants"

I wasn't holding my breathe on 2/24 launch since there had been no announcment made. Ohh well, I'm bumed out that I can't get this phone yet but I don't get why some people take it so to heart . Shit happens, there was never an official annoucement so Verizon has done nothing wrong in regards to this phone. People have just been speculating . I'm hoping it will be release before mid March . The sooner the better but it's just a phone I'll live

I agree with you. I'm bummed. But at least we still have awesome devices in the meantime. In this whole situation, I would think BB would receive more angry glares that VZW. They've taken pre-orders for a device with no release date! Now, that's some craziness right there.

Now, if Big Red had put out a release date and I had sold my Inc and it didn't happened, then I'd be rightfully pissed. I'm can be frustrated all I want, but I'm not angry at VZW. They didn't promise something they're not delivering. They said "coming soon." Soon is a very general statement. :cool:

I would have to respectfully disagree. They might have had an internally announced release date but that is it. The reason to keep it internal is because of the risk that it could change. If they were confident in a specific date, they would publicly announce a date. The Black_Man_X has also stated "How can a device be delayed if it was never announced"? Paraphrasing there but something to that effect.

Bottom line, it will launch when it is completed and ready. Be glad they are not releasing a half A$* device with tons of issues.
 
speaking of the new commercial posted on their YouTube page, am I the only one who is noticing that they are removing the skeptical comments? The ones that were posted originally that were doubting the launch coming have now been removed.... interesting.

Lol, did you read the sticky?

Regardless, Verizon hasn't give a date for the TB YET. Just like the Incredible, there was TONS of rumor, leaks, etc, but the date was announced until right before the Pre-Order.

Obviously the 14th was an internal date, but issues arose in final testing that delayed that. And we ONLY know this because of people leaking internal information. Verizon said at CES 1QTR...last time I checked, it is still 1QTR.

Verizon might announce a date today. We don't know.
