Best Buy Details

If you are signed up for the release info (text or email) you will know exactly when you can order the phone online. This is open to everyone.

No. VZW doesn't seem to want to do preorders. Anything we've gotten early is because we were a dev partner and the restrictions on those devices were so heinous that it was stupid. If we want a device for general testing, business use, or personal, we have to buy it on release day like everyone else.
 
Ok another question, if i work till 2 in the afternoon how likely is it the day the Tbolt comes out that my local Verizon store will be out of phones by 2:30 or 3? I've never waited for a new phone like this so I have no clue how quick they go or if they send an email out like they did with the iPhone earlier this month.

It really depends! Depends on how many units the store you're going has, and amount of customers going there.

...though if my memory is correct, The Merge was in cellebrite back in November, too... and we all know how that has turned out thus far...*facepalm*

Yup.

Our iPhone preorder consisted of us cutting a PO to our rep, dated for release date, and then it sat on his desk. On release day, he filled the order as soon as it would let him. VZW Biz is mostly not worth your time to deal with, which is why I just ordered one from Best Buy.
 
Remember a 24th release does not guarantee you will have the phone that day, especially if there is a long pre-order list and they start calling people in to pick up their phones...I get home from work around 7 pm and the store closes at 8 pm

I would be upset if they call me early in the day and could not get the phone later when I get home.

Looks the Xoom has arrived at BB Click Here with no TB in sight.
 
So this guy walks in to a Best Buy with a Best Buy circular under one arm and $249 under the other.............Ba da bing:p

OK, bad attempt at humor to "lighten" the mood around here. So Saturday I went to a BB in Spokane, Wa to talk to the mobile guys about the TB. They had the retraction printed up and sitting in the price card holder where I assume the TB price will be, if/when the damn thing is ever released. I asked the guy about release date and was told "not sure, but I think you'd be pretty safe coming back on the 28th". I asked if the $249 price will be honored considering the circular said $249 from the 20th - the 26th and the mobile guide states $299. He said he had no idea and that a decision would have to come from the big guys. I then asked if the buy back program would be extended on account of the delay. He told me it expires on the 26th and the only way to be included in it would be to pay for the phone sight unseen and wait for it to come in. I told him I'd at least like to see one (they didn't even have a dummy in) before I spend that kind of money. I said I'd put the $50 deposit down if it would get me in the buy back and lock the $249 price and he said it wouldn't do either.:mad:

I sure hope the employee I talked to a week ago is in when the phones arrive, as he was much more pleasant and informative than this guy.

Thats better than what I got -- I asked if I could pay in full for the phone ahead of time to get the free buyback program from BBY and I was told NO, they said it would appear in their system as if they sold me the phone before the "street date".

I am on vacation from 2/24 - 2/28, so if the phone comes out on the 24th I would miss out on picking it up and getting the free buyback. If it comes out on the 28th, then the free buyback is already over - unless BBY extends the date and then I'd be fine getting it from BBY (I still might just buy it on a 1-year contract from VZW, if it is available).

Good idea, there are 3 VZ stores and 1 Best Buy within my drive home from work. I don't wanna preorder from BB until i know the 4G price and the BB guy said the Preorder isn't a big deal since they only sold 4 iPhone4s in the week they first came out.

miami is also a tester for vzw and he was testing this phone last year when it was a 3g device called the incredible hd/ mecha. it got pushed back initially because vzw decided to make it 4g.

if he said that about the emails, then i take that as a given and am now excited again!
 
Just got off the phone with my friend who works at BB in the mobile department where I already pre-ordered my Thunderbolt... He said that they received a letter today saying the release date has been changed to "indefinite". It said that they are having problems with the skype video calling. I'm so pissed. Call your local BB where you pre-ordered your phones and you should hear the same thing. I really hope it's just a snag and they can get it out soon cuz I just switched to the iPhone 4 from an EVO cuz sprint doesn't have good service where I moved and I miss android soooo much.

I just called the BB I preordered from, and was told "Unofficially? Probably the 24th." In those exact words. I'm not claiming nor confirming anything, so take that statement whatever way you like. :)
