They are really starting to pump them out... I am having trouble believing we are any more than a week away.

OT note: Did you see House's address on his Drivers License? 221 Baker Street, Apartment B. 221B Baker Street is the address of the infamous Sherlock Holmes. See what they did there?
There's a number of parallels. Even his name "House" is supposed to be similar to "Ho[l]mes".

Yeah I understand that, I thought it was Tuesday, so that way we only had two days left, then I realized it was only Monday, so we still have three days left.

I'm looking at it this way, Today is Monday, the end of it, so we have Tuesday and Wednesday left, 2 days. :D I'm not counting Thursday as that is the day I pick up the phone (hopefully)

Don't get mad at me, just telling you what they told me. I think it makes more sense. I understand about releasing the phones on thur, but at this point, I doubt they really care if they release on a thur or not. Either way, no way they only give two days notice for the release of their flagship phone. Think about it....

just saw the commercial on fox with the guy on the rooftops. The youtube version does not say "coming soon" but the one that just aired on fox said "coming soon" at the end

I saw 3 thunderbolt commercials within 30mins of each other, why would they be playing all of these commercial this much on every other channel if it wasn't coming out this week. I saw an htc commercial also

They will give a release date...it's just not going to be the 24th. I hate that too, but it makes no business sense to only give a two day notice. That means announce tomorrow, release thursday. For a flagship phone...no way. Its all about pre-order and as many knowing about it as possible. Its all about the benji's

Why are you doing this? These are my hopes and dreams you are messing with, no, destroying. This phone is ready for release and they will release it as soon as possible, even if that means they dont give people a heads up a week in advance.

I guess the Droid Incredible announcement last year a few days before pre-orders doesn't count?

the Droid X was announced only a few days before too

They only give alot of lead way for Apple it seems since they announced the iPhone last month and it didn't come out till this month...

heck, they announced the Pre 2 two days before it went up for sale

Positive thinking people, positive!! Now all we need is for Verizon to make it official, (maybe tomorrow? :) and hopefully they'll announce accessories to go with it :D (ie: Car Dock / Desk Dock)

There is no need to make a release date? People already know about it. It happens with a lot of phones as soon as its out they will advertise a crap load...

Just got off a chat with a VZW guy and I was trying to work out free activation and so I said I would have to get by Tbolt this Saturday to save $35 (x 3 lines). He told me to be careful they may be sold out by this Saturday but then told me not to worry I might be able to put it on back order.

You did not just say the "B" word! I'm having flashbacks!

Thank you for saving me valuable typing time, as I was just about to point that out. lol I know first hand (as do others) about the "Incredible Incident" as I like to call it. Ever think that maybe they don't want to do preorders simply because of the Incident with the Inc last year? I thought they would never catch up. The last thing Verizon wants is to be caught with their battery door open AGAIN. LOL

We don't want another Incredible launch.... that was horrible
I was lucky enough to get my pre-order in on the first day, it sold out the first day too, then came the endless amount of delays relating to the screen's AMOLED supply. It took all the way out till August for stock to keep up with demand.

The only good thing about that is how much money I made off of my Incredible, I ended up selling it for 640 on ebay, then got the Droid X with a new 2 year agreement.

Good times, but I pray they have enough in stock for us all.

Sounds good to me then. You guys I admit follow this more than I do. I have no idea what happened in previous launches. Just going off business sense and the way I was told it worked by verizon rep. If they've done it in the past..maybe were all good. This is going to be my first droid. I just hope I like it and can get used to all the touch screen stuff. Have a black berry now. This is a big switch.

I can't imagine that they would be putting this many commercials out if they were waiting until March. That's a lot of coin to put at least one commercial on every 30 minutes that I'm seeing. It's one thing for people on this forum to be filling their phone lines, but to have everyone calling in for another two weeks doesn't make sense.

I know people expect that they will announce a date well before the release, but there is no reason to. They have everyone's attention and if you're planning on getting one you probably already know. Does it really take more than a 12 hour notice?
