Ok i've updated my phone to 2.3 and it works brilliantly, but when updating my brothers it installs fine but when you boot it, it takes like five minutes for the lights to come on the buttons and the it just has a bright screen for a couple minutes and then the phone is up and running but no lg logo or boot animation in between also it wont boot in to recovery jus a black screen im really lost with this please help.

Okay I've fixed this now and it's an easy fix. If anyone has this problem put it on here and I will post the fix?

Just post the fix m8, that way it can be added to the op, so those that may have the same problem can find it quickly.
 
Ok here is the fix for if you try to update your phone to a custom rom and end up losing the boot animations and it wont boot into recovery mode and this will also possibly work if you brick your phone. make sure you use a usb port on the back of your computer isf it is a desktop. Firstly, hopefully you will of backed up before trying to update your phone if not you will lose all data stored on the phone.

Firstly download the KDZ updater from the first post if you havent already done so.
Then your going to need to download two files:

The first is the French V20a KDZ,

Then this one here, the out KDZ,

Ok the out KDZ page is in russian but i dont know how to upload files to mediafire or anything. Maybe dudeman can do this.

Right to start with you need to remove the SD card, the battery and the sim card.

Next you will need to press the volume - / Down button and connect your usb cable this will put your phone into download mode.

Next you need to open up device manager and go to modems and disable the LG android usb modem.

Then open up the KDZ updater. Check that the type is set to '3GQCT' and the phone mode set to 'CS_EMERGENCY' then in the KDZ file box browse to and select the french KDZ file and click Launch software update. Wait for it to say finished in the dialog box and then unplug the usb cable before it the phone boots. Then plug your phone back in while pressing the Volume - / Down buttom again, this time the screen will say download mode. Go back to the KDZ updater and check the the Type box still says 3GQCT and the Phone mode is still set to CS_EMERGENCY, and browse to the out KDZ and again launch software update wait for it to say finished and again remove the usb cable put the battery back in the phone and start the phone it will get to the android boot logo but thats it. Plug the usb cable back in and go back to the KDZ updater and change the phone mode to DIAG the browse to Either the Carphonewarehouse KDZ with fastboot or the EuropeanOpen KDZ with fast boot and again launch software update and when it says finshed turn off the phone and boot into fast boot mode and install the Cyanogenmod 7 update as per dudemans instructions in the first post.

Any problems with this method please let me know.

but yes create sd backups on ur computer, in case u have to format it

Hi everyone,

It say in the first post that you bluetooth is working but I can't seem to get it to send or recieve files on mine or my brothers gt540. Is there a fix at all for this or are there settings i need to alter.

I am very happy with the upgrade to 2.3 that I installed a couple of days ago. Thanks for your support!

I previously reported a possible Skype problem using a backed up installation - seems to work ok if you download it freshly from the market.

I previously reported a problem with SetCPU - it does work OK now. I found that my SU app had decided to deny su access for some reason.

My latest question has to do with upgrading the version. I think I have v1.4b. Can you possibly put a note on the first post so visitors can check the most recent version with out downloading?

v1.4b Is the most recent version, whenever a new version comes out I'll post it in the first post straight away so you'll always be up to date :D
 
Hi guys,
I just installed CM7 on my phone. Now im trying to copy and paste copybit.swift.so in to system/lib/hw, but when im trying to paste this file it says : "You cannot paste here because the file system is read-only".
What should i do ?

At the top of Root Explorer, there's a button that says 'Mount R/W' press that, then paste it in. :) :D

I have one problem. When i type adb push copybit.swift.zip /sdcard
i get an error : "failed to copy 'copybit.swift.zip' to '/sdcard/ : Is a directory


Whats up with that ?

Try this code:

Go to Settings>Language & Keyboard (11th option down, icon on the left of it is an A in a square)>First option - Select language>English :)

i unchecked the usb debugging option and now when i check it i get the dialog and click ok i get the usb connected screen and it doesnt activate debugging mode ! I restared and nothing happened. This could be a real problem. I dont even have the market or the email app !
 
Yes i did that but some stuff was still in russian. I restarted and now everything is ok. I think i ll try reflashing the rom. Can i do it just like i did before by holding down the camera button etc?

USB Debugging doesn't activate is what you're saying? The Market apps will be sorted when you apply the 2 patches in recovery :)
 
i did reflash and it did go into db mode.i did what u said and i got that read only error. I did what u told some other guy to mount R/W and it worked. I copied all the files and applied the patches so i guess everything seems to be fine so far. Is there some way of reinstalling all the apps i had before without doing it one at a time ? They should still be in my SD.Thanks a lot !
