Last minute decision to change the backplate from Red to Black.

I think HTC made a smart move by deciding to go with a black backplate. I knew the decision to go black was last minute, but apparently they had already placed the orders for some of the red parts. I have hardware version 0002. I just noticed that the original color of my USB port was RED. It was painted over black. Over time the paint is wearing off, and I see specks of red coming through.

i wish they did a little more accent, like red power button, optical pad, volume buttons and all the logos in red. that would have looked cool.

Yeah. I hate the stock lens cover. I took mine off in July.
What did you put in it's place? I am always concerned the the lens cover is going to get damaged because it protrudes from the phone. I do use a case that makes the back flush but I like the feel of the naked phone much better.

For a while I had a steel ring which attached my macro lens... Now I have nothing. Much better.

I liked the red accents. But am glad they went with black battery cover. The Incredible S does look very sharp though.

You can always just buy a red back :P

On ebay (and some online stores) they have: black, red, white, green

I've got the stock back and a white one.
