Best Buy Details

My understanding is that if you buy from BB and something goes wrong with your phone, you take it back to BB and they give you a new one. With Verizon, you take it back and your likely to get a refurbished unit. Someone please correct me if im wrong.

You're right. They send your phone out to get fixed, give you a loaner while it's out, and you get YOUR phone back, unless it's broken, then you get a new one.

If you buy at BB, can you still go through Verizon for warranty issues? I like the convenience of making a phone call and having a replacement sent out? I've been a Storm/Storm 2 user for awhile now and Verizon replaced a few faulty phones.

I'm hoping I can return this preorder at BB if the buyback isn't extended if there's a release after the 26th. I just use Amazon (prime) for everything I used to buy at Best Buy now.

I apologize if this has been answered earlier, but can anyone remember another phone's launch where an official release date wasn't given by Verizon or the other big phone companies? As I mentioned last week, it seems weird to me that the release of this phone could actually be the 24th without hearing so from Verizon x amount of time in advance. I SO want this phone to come out, but it just seems strange to me. If you guys know of another time that something like this happened, then it would set my mind at ease. Thanks as always.

I hope so. I cant get anything done because I cant stop checking to see if anything has changed.

yeah it's been said before, but my f5 key is dying over here

between checking here, androidcentral, droidlife, phandroid, and about 3 other sites--i'm surprised i'm getting any work done at all :)

crap..Monday...i took this Friday off in hopes of getting an entire weekend full of playing with the phone

In all honesty that very point is 95% of my frustrations. I could care less 26th 24th 28th etc.. I just wanted to get it within the buy back.

Me too. I want the buy back, for free. Yeah you get it for 50% off if you get black tie too, but I want it for free damn it.

Does Best Buy honor the early upgrade Verizon does.. LIke my NE2 is in July but they sent me a text saying I can upgrade now. Can I get the Thunderbolt at Best Buy with the early upgrade?

No. I went in to bestbuy because Verizon told me I was eligible for an upgrade. Bestbuy guy checked and told me I wasn't because they don't recognize the early upgrades he had me call Verizon to try to get my date pushed up.

Was he successful in getting your upgrade earlier?

No. My upgrade was over 2 months out or something so they wouldn't do it. They will typically do it if you are within a month or so but I have heard that if you get the right person and sweet talk them, they might do it much further out. From what I hear, its best to try it over the phone (611 i think) than in person, and the female reps are more likely to do it as well. You can just keep on trying till you get someone to do it i guess. lol. W/e you do, just be nice and don't expect or demand anything.

I was going to have my date pushed up as well since my upgrade date was the 26th for the 24th date... they wouldn't do it, so i explained that i was able to do it for the Droid X on my other line as well as another time for my Touch Pro 2 back in 2009. She had me hold while she went to talk to her manager and she came back on to say "yes we can do it since its within the 2 week time frame" I was like, i thought there was a 30 day window "there was but they changed those policies back in January"

umm is it just me or is the iphone starting to control our Android network err uhh I mean Verizon :P
