Has anyone found wallpapers that look good?

The default wallpapers look great but I find that apps from applications such as Backgrounds and Zedge are blurry as hell (compared to the Inspire that i returned). So.. has anyone found wallpapers that look nice? Not sure why they aren't coming in clear.

Most of those Android wallpapers are 480x800, which is the standard device resolution, while the Atrix is 540x960.

Generally stuff might upsize and not look too bad, but if you note the screen ratios, the regular rez is 1.66 and the Atrix is the same as HD TVs, 1.78, so not only do they stretch, but the proportions get thrown off.

Your best bet is to just score some regular PC wallpapers and modify them yourself. You'll also want to make sure you size them to 1080x960 which is how Android handles the horizontal scrolling (2x the H by 1x the V).

Hope that helps!

Here's one from the Honeycomb distro, that I rescaled for use on the Atrix:

how exactly do I set a resolution for wallpapers I save on the PC?

You'll need some kind of photo editing/management tool. There's a jillion of options out there from Photoshop for $500+ to GIMP for free (both of these are powerful, full featured image editors).

Alternately, just an image resizing type tool (for managing your digital images), something like this:

Free Picture Resize Starter - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Tons of free stuff on CNet, just search around!

Generally, what you want to do is set a selector to a fixed size, then you can kind of stamp out a proper sized portion of the image, or if you want most of the image, then first resize it so that it maxes out to the larger dimension you're targeting, then select the proper size. If you just resize the whole image, it will get all out of proportion.

If you find a couple of large[r] wallpapers you like, sling 'em up here and I'll edit them for you :)

I have been using Rare Black wallpapers hd vol 2. These are really nice and simple looking and don't use battery like live wallpapers do. With beautiful widgets clock/weather on it this is one pretty screen
