Hello all!

Hope everyones enjoying there new xooms! I sure am.

I have a question.. has anyone figured out how to get the notification light to work?? When i get new emails and new tweets etc it doesn't light up...

PS: For those of you who didnt know if you look below the verizon logo on your xoom theres a little line about a 1/4 of an inch long and that is a notification light.

I think when I get emails from gmail it blinks white, but I haven't been able to find any settings to change notifications for it yet. I'm sure someone will write an app for it at some point.

I have the same question. I read in the documentation that there is a notification light, and I really like that feature, but I cannot find any settings whatsoever to make it work.

I also find that while my gmail widget updates with a new email widget, the lower notification does nothing all.

So, when I get a new email, the following does not function:

-I get no notification light
-I get no notification sound

I have been thru the setting numerous time, and I have the sounds and dock notifications both on.

Any help>?

I works on mine only after the screen times out or off. While viewing the screen, you have the notification at the bottom but I doubt you'll have both when the display is lit up.

Do you know why that is? I powered it down and you're right. I don't like this.

My L.E.D. notifications work fine.
Its a Motorola thing. The X is the same way.
If your screen is on, you wont see the l.e.d. light up when you receive a notification.
For example: receive a txt on your X when your screen is on... No light.
The screen must be off prior in order for the l.e.d. to pulse flash the notification light.
I guess Moto/Google figure if your screen is still on, you're paying enough attention to the lower right corner of your Xoom. Maybe they think its a way to save power, or that its redundant since notifications also appear in the lower right corner when the screen is on.

OK SO.. it is correct that the screen has to be off. But my xoom still was showing no light regardless of any type of notification i got but... low and behold tonight it just started working.. tweets, emails, everything makes that sucker light up. and i gotta admit guys, its a classy looking notification light eh???
