Ok guys, I thought the 4G on this phone was going to be no $$$ extra than the unlimited data plan I am already paying for. I just got my bill in the mail and it had an insert regarding 4G service... What's this aboot and will it have any relevance to Thunderbolt 4G and how much we'll have to pay to use it? Sorry picture isn't so clear...

This is not for cell phones..

thats for the laptop dongles, not smartphones

Just to clarify guys, we use the CELLBRITE machines to transfer contacts/media from one phone to another. Its a good sign that it showed up today, so I thought I'd share

Dumb question... I've been preordered for a TB since Jan. 6th, and defecting from ATT to VZW. Can Cellebrite transfer from an iOS device to an Android or do I need to get squared away with backing up my contacts and such on my own?

Just want to be prepared when it drops... after a couple of months of lurking on multiple forums and following this device since I played with one at CES. Which by the way, yes it was live on 4G at CES, and yes it was silly fast, one of the many reasons that sold me. The Moto Atrix and Bionic were both much more laggy in UI response and the plasticky build was a turn off. Yes the TB is unibody aluminum, straight from an HTC rep at CES cause I asked. It has a more substantial rubberized back than the Inspire, but basically the same construction.

One more thing... the copyright issue with the newly announced 'Thunderbolt' transport tech by Intel (Light Peak) and Apple is a non-issue. In copyright law there is a 'reasonable expactation' standard and there is definitely NO reasonable expectation that someone buying a Macbook Pro thinks it comes with a 4G LTE phone by Verizon or vice versa. This only becomes an issue when you have competing products that have similar names and logos.

Great thread... Keep up the passion gang!

Never had too many problems transfering iphones to andriods. If I ever did have a problem, I just did the transfer by just removing the SIM card from the iphone and using that

Ooops, I meant to add this... I have the Samsung SCH-i730 Model.

It's been a decent phone, but I really want to get away from the MS Os system.

Can't wait to get an Android.
Dennis

That's pretty old haha. It'll transfer just fine on the TB. Just checked it out myself

You: I like to buy HTC Thunderbolt phone. Do you when will I be able to buy it?

VZ Chat Person: Hello! We, do not have information on when that phone will be released.

You: do you know when will Verizon release the date?

VZ Chat Person: no, I am not sure.

You: What about 4G data plan price?

VZ Chat Person: The plans for 4G data will be the same.

You: great

You: so you are really sure about 4G data plan price?

VZ Chat Person: Yes, I am sure.

VZ Chat Person: It will be unlimited web and email for $29.99 or corporate web and email for $44.99.

Ok, I might need to update myself on things but from the sound of it what i skimmed so far, I didn't miss much, but then again, Phandroid posted a link to the HTC online store confirming that HTC will be selling the ThunderBolt for $699 off contract, and then we see those speed tests (kinda old though because there was screenshots last week with speedtests as well, and they were better shots since you could actually read what they were saying)

In all likelihood, hopefully Verizon announces something Monday
but regardless of the 4G SIM issue thats rumored, why else would all these things be appearing (ie: display stands, signage, cell brite access (kinda old) and then we find it on HTC's website today)

I'm holding onto next week

I'm beginning to get annoying by BMX being so cocky about the Tbolt, gloating he has one and everyone and there uncle are clamoring to get one from Verizon. Then he taunts us all by posting on forums and his blog and twitter, I could care less if he works for Verizon or is a tester, there lowly grunts and think because they have a ThunderBolt unlike everyone else that there going to know everything, gloat about it, rub it in peoples faces you name it....

other than all that, does it seem like i'm up to date for today?
