It's a psychological thing, you feel like you held up your end of the bargain by giving them $$$ and in our instant gratification society, people have a long time waiting any length of time for anything. So when weeks go by, you feel they are stringing you along...I mean they totally are, whether it is their fault or not. That get's people pissed off. Especially since most people feel their concerns and problems are dismissed due to the lack of any real information on this release.

I agree with that, I mean Im first on the preorder list I have been waiting since the sunday you could pre order, but taking it out on someone who has no power over the situtation is pretty pathetic. Anyways not here to start an argument just wanted to share the story. :cool:

Customer calls up angry about the fact her order didn't ship yet, you call the supplier/manufacturer/warehouse to see when the order will ship. They tell you it will ship on Wednesday and you relay that to the customer. I mean you could never be wrong right? The supplier/manufacturer/warehouse told you that it would ship on that date so it is 100% set in stone that it will, no doubt about it...

He doesn't control the release date and if he is given a date from VZ, but then they for whatever reason, change that date...well he gave us the best info he had. He ultimately is involved in the process, but doesn't have control or the last say on when it releases.

You don't have to ever believe him, heck I rarely believe anyone about anything. But, this isn't a perfect world we live in and we are far from perfect...

I know that date has been tossed around a lot, but I may die a little inside if it does end up being the 10th, since that is the day I go out of town until the 15th, and won't be able to pick up my pre-order. /le sigh

Wonder if I can convince my BB to give it to me the night before ;) (In my dreams, right?)

You're being shortsighted here, IMHO.
First, seeing that one of its partners created a communication problem, inflated expectations, and began preorders, Verizon should have stepped in and taken best buy to task for making announcements and offers that were not solid.

I understand that Verizon had no obligation to be rushed to make an announcement, but they do have a responsiblity to their customers in making sure expectations are not set by a retail PARTNER they do business with.

No, he means that Verizon caused a lot of people to go crazy just by saying the TB existed, look at all the people on here going nuts about it. Look at all the people yelling and screaming at BMX about this phone.

I'm interpreting that as him saying VZ shouldn't have released as much info about the TB, creating so much pent up demand until the phone was closer to being launch-ready.
 
Sorry I haven't read a lot of the post lately(work interferes with a lot!) I just went into my local VZW store and asked if they would have Tbolts in stock by the time I make it to them by 4pm which ever day it comes out. Also I told them I can pre-order through BB and get one for sure, the owner wants my business so he put me down for a $50 pre-order. He said they are due in the 4th and not to be mad if they don't come in being they have been delayed multiple times already. I am only writing this because I have read so much and am so Fing excited that I needed to share, I am making a forum post from my Tbolt Friday when I pick it up! I will also be looking for Skype friends.
