[ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [05/23/11]

I did. I haven't messed with it yet. Waiting for my day off so that I can take my time and do a bunch of things to my phone I've been meaning to do. Thanks for the heads up though. :)

Yep already in the OP, thanks

It looks like the 3/1 version has graduated to Android 2.3.3: [ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.3 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [03/01/2011] - xda-developers .

You can find the 3/1 Android 2.3.3 image here: http://bit.ly/eYLSnp . Additionally, you can find the 3/1 GApps here: http://bit.ly/fKgpEN .

Nyah, Nyah, I beat you by one minute, DonB! Haha, just kidding around. :D

I am gonna give this one a try later when I get home. It looks good! :)

LOL, yah about time you try a new ROM

Oh, I have been on various and sundry ROMs for quite a while now. I have just too busy to change the "Devices" text under my avatar.

I have been bouncing between AOSP Android 2.2 and AOSP Android 2.3 lately. Those, with a little CyanogenMod 6 thrown in once in a while.

has anyone flashed the new release yet, if so what differences have you noticed?

im running the CM7 nightly 8 and im very happy with the way it runs on my phone

If your happy, you know the saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it

I saw this on XDA for those who are flashing Decad3nce's kernals on top of aosp's 2.3 builds to increase overclocking speeds: [KERNEL][GPL][2011/02/26] Updated hotaru kernel for aospCMod (capped & uncapped) - xda-developers

It allows you to use the CM settings to adjust the governor/speeds without having to do it through terminal with the battery tweak. Not sure how many people would like this, but decided to post it for those that are interested :)

Under performance settings I'm able to OC to 768. Am I not actually capable of running that without SetCPU or OC Widget?

The option is in the settings but you can't clock to those speeds if the kernel is not supported. If you choose 768 it may default to 691 unless the kernel is updated.

So I upgraded to 2.3.3 with today's new build. This was my first time with 2.3x so I did the full wipe of everything. I used CWM 3.0.0.5 as well. Install went fine. Booted into recovery, did a Nandroid, wiped user data, cahce, and davlik. Then I tried to flash to LiquidSense1.1_signed.zip (which is really the 2.1 version but is named 1.1 for some reason). Link of DL is here: [ROM] LiquidSense 2.1 Stable|PngOpt|ZipAlgn|Odex|No Bloat - xda-developers

Anyway, when I tried to flash this ROM I get the following error.

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClowckworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery, Please switch to Edify scripting (update=script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted.

Any ideas?

I mean this is the latest version of CWM and LiquidSense. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks all.

The stock Aosp GB kernel runs at 768 just fine. The only thing that would limit it would be if you're cpu hangs at that speed. The stock kernel on this ROM is incredibly functional IMO.

I think it's your phone's way of saying stay with the GB ROM. :D But seriously, it's probably some kind of incompatability between Liquid Sense, and CWM. I don't really know for sure though. I'm sure someone with more knowledge on this will chime in.

I'm thinking its the CWM, u should try going back to the 2.5 version n then flash the Rom u want

I thought that everyone was saying to go to the newer CWM though. I will give this a try and see what happens.

Also can someone explain to a relative newbie the difference between versioning numbers in this thread when new releases come out. Some are aospCmod and some are aospGBmod. So today I tried the [ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.3 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [03/01/2011]

Other than a newer version, how is this different than a aospCMod?

I am trying to understand. Thanks all.

ok. if you have lag PLZ PLZ PLZ read this first... SOULUTION= download a new launcher or if you want to keep adw, just download it AGAIN in the market(i have tried this and it works 100% better)

You sure could, but why would you want too, GoogleVoice is the way to go, you will never have to flash anything once you have it set up again when you change Roms

Can I flash the Sprint Visual Voicemail apk with this rom?
