No I'm sorry i think you misunderstood i will be using my computer to copy the files from haha im not that much of a noob! i think"Could their be a way i can put my files on my sd card through a recovery or fastboot?"
Even if there was a way to do this, there isn't eough internal storge available on the Hero to even consider using it as a temp storage area while copy and pasting the files.
The only other thing I can think of (besides taking it to a Sprint store) is that there is something on the sd card that the phone is looking for...a sound file, or an image, or a wallpaper) that is missing when the card is removed. Try setting all the notification sounds and ringers to all defaults, and the wallpaper (both lock screen and home screen) to default and see if this helps any. Other than that, I'm thinking that you need to find a way to copy all contents to the new card, or take it to a Sprint store.

Got it. Let us know if the suggestion Slug gave works and resolves your issue. I'm always learning as well!No I'm sorry i think you misunderstood i will be using my computer to copy the files from haha im not that much of a noob! i think![]()

I still have a bootloop ): i don't understand whats wrong???? i successfully copied all of the files to my SD card ):
Alright i will after its done restoring.Try what I suggested above, change all notification sounds and images to stock/default. Then switch cards.
Yeah i almost got one last night but ended up not haveing enough money with me. I'll be able to get one on friday though and also i restored to my recovery that had like everything default and it worked but then when i tried restoring on the recovery that i had launcher pro and all of my other apps it went into a boot loop so yeah idk whats going on.You could buy yourself a microSD card reader. They are relatively inexpensive and it would solve your issue of needing a way to reading a microSD card without your handset.
Here is one from DealExtreme for $0.98 cents and free shipping, with good reviews: $0.98 - Smallest MicroSD TransFlash USB Card Reader with Cover (Blue) - Card Readers .

Have you ever been able to restore to the backup you are discussing? Reason I ask ...how much free space is on your old 2GB sd card? Its possible that the backup file is corrupted. We have seen cases when there is less than 500 MB free, and a nandroid backup will indicate that it was completed successfully, but it really didn't, due to not enough space. It seems that it needs more space than the file ends up being.

I think you meant to aim this at the other poster.
You are right about needing a bit more space than what is required for the final size of a Nandroid. It is almost like it needs extra "swap space" to create the Nandroid before writing it to the microSD card.![]()
Edited the post. Should have been addressed to steam374...Been a long day...time for bed.
But the thing is i can restore my phone on my 2gb sd card perfectly but just not on my 8GB sd card. I'm just about to give up on this 8Gb sd card lol. But yeah my 2gb sd card has 265 mbs left that could be a probelm like JB said.I assume you mean restoring your Nandroid backup caused you a boot loop? It probably was just not flashed correctly or things were not wiped fully or some other unknown reason when you made that Nandroid backup.
The best thing to do would be to just start fresh after you have completely wiped and formatted everything and flash the ROM again. Then, of course, flash your GApps as well.
Yeah iv been able to restore it from that backup several times. I just can't restore it from my 8gb sd card which i don't understand.steam374...
