Thunderbolt design flaw?

Pretty sure it's under the battery to force users to unmount the card, no doubt saving on damage and complaints.

I still meet folks who try to tell me that's unneccesary. Same ones often complaining when they buy replacements.

ha really , people don't realize you need to unmount memory that your phone/computer is using . Seems like common sense to me

It depends. I have never unmounted a USB flash drive in Windows. As long as it's not being used, meaning not being written to, it's unlikely anything will be corrupted if hot removed. But not everyone knows this and on a phone it's more likely the card will be actively being used so it's a very good idea that the phone be powered off before removing.

How often do people need to remove the card anyway?

Yeah I never unmount usb flash or sdcards on a computer but I do close down all windows associated with it.

Your phone sdcard is much different.

I probably access mine 2 or 3 times a week

Personally, I think that's not great advice. By practicing the discipline to unmount/eject always, chances of a fouled card from human error are lowered, in my view. But, that's me.

I think the side is a stupid place for a charging port. Should be on the bottom. I find it very uncomfortable to use the phone while plugged into the charger.
