Root Stock Gingerbread Rom?

Is there a stock gingerbread 2.3 rom?

Getting tired of all the "issues" that come with the modified roms. I just want a stable phone :/

I would think Bugless Beast Gingerbread is as close to stock as you'll find. Since Motorola hasn't released a Gingerbread update for the Droid (and likely never will), a vanilla custom ROM is as close as you'll get.

I also had problems with Gingerbread, most likely due to the limited memory of the OG Droid. I reverted to UltimateDroid 2.5 and am quite happy with a solid Froyo ROM. :)

I'm still running CM7 nightlies (currently overlaying them with Winner00's build as his has a fix or two plus newer commits that don't make the nightly CM7 builds) and I have very very few issues at this point.

I even have my DSP manager back (and in my new Frontier the music from Pandora now sounds just short of superlative).

But, as Chief said, vanilla is as close as you'll get for now (and perhaps forever - no one can really confirm nor deny whether Motorola is going to build GB for the DROID or not).

Try this Peter Alfonso and scroll down to the Stock Ginderbread ROM heading. There you can download Pete's newest version of Stock Gingerbread called GPA12. I have been running it for awhile now with no problems.

I also loaded Pete's 1ghz LV kernel to run with it and it has done well (there can also be downloaded form that same location). The stock kernel is 800mhz and that speed seems to cause it to struggle a bit.

I agree, I to have been looking for a stable rom to use. Have played around with quite a few. I have been using LGB 1.31 the last couple days. I loaded the 900 kernel that is in the options settings. This seems to run real stable, pretty quick, very responsive, and have had the best battery life in a long time. I suggest giving this a try. I know each phone handles everything different, but I have found this works well for me.

very solid and stable for me as well..
I opted for the 1200 kernal but set it at 1100...
I have gotten up to 20hrs of medium use on the battery (texting,a few calls, checking FB, etc) If I really tax it with web browsing I can still manage a good 8+ hrs...

I realize that you are looking for stock, but ChevyNo1 released a new GB ROM yesterday, Simply Stunning 5.01, that is the sweetest ROM I have had on my phone yet. I am using his 1.2GHz ulow voltage kernel and my phone is faster than it has ever been and has all the GB goodness too. The Jury is still out on the battery life, but with his 5.0 ROM and the same kernel, with light usage, I saw several days where I only put the phone on the charger every other day, with medium heavy usage I would charge it every night and would put it on the charger with no less than 30% battery left. Of course, mileage may vary. The handset I have now is a refurb and unlike my old one, runs better and cooler on the 1.2 GHz ulow voltage kernels than it did on the stock Froyo kernel. I love my Droid, but, at least to me, the fact that one handset operates sooooo much differently than another is a bit disturbing.

Anyway...

Good luck with your search,
BigRedGonzo

I,too, have had issued with gb roms. Tried three and all of them are unable to multitask. I'm happy with Froyo till I get a new phone. Thinking about buying a X. See em on Ebay. They seem to be coming down in price. Like the large screen and hdmi out. This is sedan and that's a Trans-Am....Firehawk...
