Root Cognition 4.1 ROM 3G issues

Just flashed to Cognition 4.1 and the network icon now says H instead of 3G. Every once in a while is switched to 3G for a second and then switches back.
Any idea what that is?
Thanks

It seems like many custom ROMs use "H" instead of 3G, to indicate HSDPA. What looks like 3G flashing may be "E" for EDGE? But I am not familiar with Cognition. On Serendipity we see "H" along with up/down arrows directly below the "H", for 3G.

Yes, that exactly the icon that I have. And when it flashes, it stays on long enough to see that it's definitely 3G.

So I'm guessing this is OK? I was worried that I lost 3G capabilities.

Some of these custom ROMs actually allow things like "H" to appear - Not to worry, you're still connecting just fine, and in some cases, FASTER than 3G, using other protocols.

Wanted to ask you why you switched from Cognition 4.1 to Serendipity 6? I installed the Cognition 4.1 on my Captivate. It disabled the corporate email and general email options. But, I want these options in. However, the phone seems faster using the Voodoo lag fix that comes with Cognition. I have been thinking of trying the best best ROM with stability and good layout. I have been thinking about:
- Serendipity.
- Cognition 4.3 (new release in late March 2011).
- CyanogenMod 7.

Can someone tell me where I can get a good comparison of ROMs for Captivate? I will like a side-by-side comparison. I have been to XDA-Developers' site but it is an information jungle, difficult to find succinct information.

HELP!!!!

ROMS for Samsung Captivate...Do we have a table that shows a head-to-head comparison of the key ROMs for captivate?

Which ROM should I choose for stability and crisp display and features?

Also, I will like to upgrade my captivate to the big leagues using Gingerbread.
