Help Recent update to 2.2.1

For those experiencing any difficulty with 2.2.1, there has been some recent changes. Go to a Sprint repair center, and have them update your phone. I had Sprint update my phone on Feb. 27, after I had used Samsung's website to initially update to 2.2.1, and it fixed several problems. I was still experiencing some difficulties after Feb. 27, so I went in today. They said Sprint had made some changes on March 1, so they updated my phone again. Everything seems to be running smoothly now.

Are they going to go official with these fixes or put them on the web for us to get?

and these fixes, did it require a full wipe of your phone?

I'm highly skeptical. Considering how many Sprint techs post here. If there was a new update or fix on 3/1, it would have posted up here or on the other major Android sites by now. There's nothing. Much more likely, they redid the update, possibly a hard reset (which seems to fix just about every issue) and blew some smoke you know where. It's all too common for low level store reps to make claims (aka LIES) about super secret updates only accessible by them and insider rumors that never pan out. It's why they have such awful reputations around these parts. I'm not saying you absolutely were lied to, just that it's about a 99.9% chance that you were.

I was having problems connecting to 3 g, and very poor battery life. The 3g problem was corrected, I'll have to wait and see if battery life has improved.

Since 2.2.1 has not been offically released yet, it makes sense that Sprint is chipping away at improving it. The original update from Samsung was plagued with several gliches, that were fixed after having Sprint reinstall 2.2.1 on Feb. 27, and now again on March 3rd.

Battery life did not improve, and I was forced to swap the phone out. The replacement phone had 2.1, but at least my battery life is back to a full days use.

Screw Froyo, until they work all the bugs out.
