Help USB not recognized

Don't know what happened to my phone, everything was working fine last week and did not make any changes. I have Windows 7 x64, just installed the x64 drivers, uninstalled Kies. However Windows will not recognize my phone. Any suggestions?

Try another USB port, like one in the back of your PC (if you haven't already). Also, remove all traces of Kies (folder, registry).

I ran into the same problem...on multiple computers and with multiple cables. It worked, and then suddenly it didn't. No matter what I did (Kies mini, Kies full, drivers, etc...), nothing worked. I was sure that it was a problem with the phone.

Yesterday, I went to Radio Shack and bought a new cable. The brand of the cable is "Gigaware". Plugged it in to my phone, and then my computer, and I was back in business!

I thought it was strange, because I tried at least 4 different cables and 2 never worked, the other two (ATT branded) did work, but then suddenly did not.

I think the connection at the micro USB slot on the phone is very sensitve and will not work if everything is not perfect.

So, do yourself a favor and spend the money (I spent 30 bucks) and buy a good cable. That could fix your problem the way it did for me.

Some cables are not data cables, so they will only charge the phone. alot of people ran into that problem and never knew it, some said the bought these from att and they didnt work.

so make sure youre using the cable that came with the phone or one you know is a data cable

Had the same problem. Finally found the drivers on this page 64&32bit. Had been using the "Official" Samsung ones from their website. Surprisingly they didn't work. Also had to plug my cable into the back on my computer. Some devices seem to like the USB better that are built into the motherboard.

That actually did it, thanks!

Also, I'm using the original cable, has anyone had any problems with that particular cable?

I had the same problem. I was using Firefox at the time and accidently solved my problem. I had Internet Explorer open, plugged in the phone, mounted it, and the file windo opened. Then it was as easy as drag and drop.

Awesome, I'm glad it works. Yeah, I've had some troubles with the original Samsung cable but now everything is working good.
