Thunderbolt delays...anyone starting to consider other options?

Just played with Inspire 4G and Atrix 4G in the AT&T store. I tried to load a few youtube videos simultaneously on both phones. I noticed that there is a significant delay on the Inspire 4G with some freezes after the video loads. The Atrix was smooth throughout. I thought that since I don't play games that much, I won't be needing a dual core processor but looking at this, I understand why dual core might be necessary in the future.

I'm starting to lean towards just getting the HTC Inspire, a reasonable facsimile of the Thunderbolt. I don't doubt that Verizon WILL release the phone, the question is when, and to me that *when* is further and further in the future. I don't really feel like waiting until the 4th of July to actually get the phone, so if this idiocy doesn't end soon, I may just bail.

Just like everyone else, I too am getting sick of waiting on this phone.. Sooo I am currently looking at other options just to get rid of this horrid BB Storm that I have been using since my enV touch took a dump. Im looking at possibly a DINC (Pre owned 119.99 on a one year contract) or a Fascinate (Pre owned 109.99 on a one year contract). Those are the two I am currently looking at but am open to other options.

In my opinion the Fascinate is a horrible phone. I just hate samsung though. I say the Droid X

The Galaxy S line is terrible. I'd get the Droid X but if you are trying to decide between the Incredible and the Fascinate, get the Incredible.

Horrible as in what? I made the jump from Dinc to Fascinate, still no regrets yet. :D

When Captivate first came out, it was horrible, since then I (along with everyone) had bad impressions on the Galaxy S phones. To be honest, I was the same until I took Fascinate, and boy, Verizon and Samsung did make sure the software is better than Captivate's.

If you're a big ROM changing person, then you should get Dinc, because of the selections. Not so much on Fasc, it's getting more these days.

Make your own choice.

I just purchased a Droid X off of Ebay. After using it for a while, i've decided to send it back, and probably won't be getting the Thunderbolt. Funny, I always thought I wanted a big screen for games and internet, but now it just seems too big! The Dinc is the perfect size for me. Too bad, I was so hyped for this phone.

I have both a Dinc (one of the originals, with the AMOLED screen) and a Droid X. Both are rooted and have custom roms and themes. Both are FANTASTIC phones to own and use. If you go with the Dinc, you're going to need to by an extended battery, as that phone was always victimized by a factory battery that was plain terrible. I bought a Seidio 3500 Extended Battery an it solved all problems I was having. Not "helped a lot", but SOLVED.

The Droid X has a big screen, which I love, a very good battery, and it's fast. I can't decide which of the two I like better, so I alternate: one week the Dinc, the next week my Droid X, as the phone I carry around. It's a win/win situation for me - either one is an excellent phone.

The above is my two cents worth, but it *is* based on personal observation so it may be useful to someone making up their mind.

I would jump on it! Especially since it looks like the special edition from the picture! I nabbed my X that is almost like new for $269. Though a good deal, im sending it back. However, I may just get this one if you dont first.

Dang better go make a PayPal account! your not robbing me of my great deal

Ya, my evo on "4g" here in bellingham, wa would consistently get lower speeds than my dads droid x on 3g...pretty disappointing

I live 1/2 mile from a 4G Sprint tower. I tried it. Lousy reception. Data would peak as high as 10mbit, but actual throughput was never more than 1-2mbit.

My Incredible on Verizon is faster, and much more responsive to data than Sprints supposed 4G network.
