[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

Being in outside sales for many years I have seen reps say whatever they needed to say to make the sale, even if wasn't true. They always figured that
they could talk their way out of it if they got caught in a lie.
Not saying he wasn't telling the truth , remains to be seen. :)

I 100% agree. And he put the disclaimer that he thinks we will see it. It was not stated as a definitive fact, so who knows. If nothing else, it gives a few more posts to the thread. I am PM'ing a mod soon to see if there is a way to give a little more background to this while keeping everything 100% anonymous.

I thought a SIM card was required for 4g, someone correct me if I'm wrong. But if that is the case, would NOT putting the 4g SIM card in default to 3G? I'd ask Vzw, but I bet they have little/no idea as of yet.

According to worldofjohnboy (he is testing a tb atm and is answering questions)over on droidforums.com you have to have the sim card for 3g and voice as well. So it's kinda all or nothing

I wouldn't worry with it. a rep saying something like that does not mean jack at this point.

not that i'm doubting it, because at this point nothing surprises me, but how do we know that silly chart is from verizon? so disheartening. my poor 2yr old storm is starting to cough up blood... not sure it'll make it much longer.

Not saying that it will/won't launch this week, but I see only speculation and opinion in that article and no hard facts. Just sayin.

I can't wait until Apple is overrun/replaced by Android.

Me either, but I'm beginning to worry about Verizon's dedication to the Android OS. They seem to be more enamored with the iPhone - making it their default Flagship Phone - and I can start to visualize, down the road, a Verizon which has nothing but lower cost, entry level android phones and puts all their emphasis on the iPhone. Leaving us, the hard core Android lovers, out in the cold. We could see AT&T or Sprint becoming THE provider for Android phones...

I'll worry about that later, I just want the friggin' TB for now. :D

Are we sure there is nothing else coming out that is likely to push out the release of the Thunderbolt even further?

Daylight Savings, gas prices, Verizon CEO's kid's birthday, FedEx strike, impending solar activity that affects only Verizon's LTE spectrum... anything?

Now, in lighter news, I can now happily confirm that the Thunderbolt is definitely on schedule for March 17th and I do not see any more delays in the future. Best Buy stores should be receiving shipments a day early for pre-orderers, but don't to worry if you didn't; you will definitely be the proud owner of an HTC Thunderbolt in 10 days.

I haven't heard anything yet because we are not focusing on the Thunderbolt this week. Could be this week, but most likely next.

Nice!! Sounds good. Looks like I'm gonna go in today and do my 14 day thing since I can't wait any longer. (and also to start getting used to having a smart phone :) )

OT: Do you know if I have to return my phone to the same store as I get it from (Obviously within 14 days)? ***Same state, just different city***

Folks, I am back-tracking and saying April now. Too little being said and the analyst meeting with VZW said nothing to suggest anything in March. In fact, if you read what was said, you would assume May is more likely.

My thoughts have been mid March for TB shipping. Seems I have a high chance of being even more wrong than normal.

I think there's a good chance for march. Not sure about the 17th though. I have been too optimistic in the past.

I sure hope all the folks that flamed some of us for suggesting this week would not happen due to iPad 2 focus will all come out and say "sorry", but their pride is probably eating them up right now :) ;)

Considering the lack of mention of their flagship 4g device in an analyst call, and continued reference to "Q2" for the technology, seems March may be a stretch now.
