Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

dude, so this means that we may be running 2.3 but we lack the new features of the 2.3, right??

Well , the phone doesn't have the hardware , what could you be expecting?

The CPU doesn't support Flash, There's no NFC chip on the phone, etc...

Keep in mind you're using a Low-end phone, that's why there are plenty of other models, to satisfy different markets.

If you have installed the ROM , you're using software that wasn't meant to be run on this device

it's like putting a Ferrari sticker on a Volkswagen, and expect the poor car to reach 200 Mph.

Thanks man, now its working !

No problem, it's tricky but it works.

I connected to LG Suite IV and it offered an update and i took it! It put my phone back to its original state in 2.1. And now after reading about the differences between 2.2 and 2.3 i'm going to wait for 2.3 to get further finished and go for that instead.

Thanks Dudeman1996 for your help, but for some reason it hadnt worked that time. I think it may have just needed another change to do it again :) 2.3 here i come...

Edit: This reply was meant for the 2.2 thread! Oops I'll copy n paste it there too if nobody minds.

Well if the phone doesn't have the hardware, how can it work? The phone wasn't meant for 2.3, not even 2.2; This wouldn't be possible without the amazing work of the dev's! :D

id just like to say ive had CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3 on my phone for about a week now...i dont normally comment.....but its been perfect.....i cant think of 1 thing its failed on...miles smoother that CyanogenMod 6.....Thanx to whoever made this possible!

Hi, Is anyone using Rom Manager with this ROM? I have just downloaded it and it does not seem to recognise the Recovery program that is on the phone. It offers to reflash, and I do not want to do anything wrong.

thanks, robert

No all Google apps work fine

Network search means there's no 3G the phone can't find them at least in my case

Navigation works fine, and the network searching refers to when you're searching for a different network carrier e.g. Vodafone, O2 etc.

Hi, My disk crashed since I installed v1.4b. I am having a problem with device drivers on my win7 64 bit system. I have LGE Android drivers installed OK, but when I connect the phone in fastboot mode the Android driver is not found. I have tried to use the files mentioned in the link on page 1, and also used pda-net installation. grr.

Can anyone please help?

Hi all,

Yes there is an update to 1.5 available i used the fastboot installation to update.
Here is the download i used Dump.Ru - SwiftDroid_v1.5FM.zip.

Install the same as instructions in first post, you need to keep the old fastboot files in the c://Android folder and delete the old boot, system and clockwork mod image files the only thing you have to change in cmd is clockwork mod needs to be changed to new version.

FM radio is included in this Release, Google apps are also included, but voice search needs to be fixed the same as before, and lots other other things have improved.

Tested last night one bug is that you cannot take pictures using the camera button on the side, i am sure there are more bugs but i havent found them yet.

Any problems post.

Lee
