What is an android phone?

My huawei U8230 android phone do not show me fields for the inbox and outbox and also for the incoming calls and outgoing calls. Is this how it is designed or there is just something am missing?

I don't know about the calls, I don't use the phone app. But the email and gmail apps only show one view at a time, such at inbox, outbox and so forth. There's not really enough room on the phone screens to show a dual panel view (folder list on the left, message view on the right) - hopefully this is something that tablets will change. This is the way Android has been since its birth - I started out on a G1 the day after that phone was released.
