Help Alarm Sound when phone boots up

Hey everyone,

Every time - when my phone is booting up it makes a loud audio alarm sound, when it reaches the "Media Scanning" stage. Can someone please tell me why and how make it stop doing that? Sometimes I need to reboot my phone at work and I don't need the whole office know that I'm playing with my phone. Thanks!

"System Volume," in menu > settings > sound and display, has nothing to do with media or phone or notification sounds, so I keep mine all the way down to avoid that boot up sound you're likely hearing.

Thanks Frisco, actually on my last reboot, I turned the phone to silent, but still got the shutdown sound, the startup sound and then that alarm sound. I wish I knew what the alarm sound is though, because it didn't always make that sound.

I am actually getting the same thing. Had to wait for media to scan for it to stop.
