Help Apps on sd card not showing in app menu

I'm new to android and my main example to my problem because I'm not sure how to say it, is I downloaded angry birds to my phone I notice that its a pretty big file so I moved it to my sd card. Now I had to turn off my phone and when my phone restarted its not in my app menu anymore. The only way I can access it is to make a short cut on the main screen. How do I get the application to go back into the app menu without putting it on the phone but instead keeping it on the sd card?

Also, when you turn back on the phone do you wait a minute (or more) for the phone to read the SD card. I know on mine the apps eventually show up after a restart, they just aren't there right away as the operating system hasn't processed all of them.
