Buy from VZW online or VZW Store?

Only major differences are, store activates for you (touches your phone), and employees in store work on commission. When you call you get it shipped to you (free overnight), you have to activate it yourself, and the employees are paid hourly so they dont push accessories and other stuff on you.

Ask both stores if they charge tax on the full retail price or just the sale price. I know the Costco here in San Diego charges tax on just the sale price while the corp. Verizon store charges tax on full price. I talked to a vzw retailer in Arizona and they said they charge tax on just the sale price, so I don't know how it works, whether its by state, store, or company. But sales tax on the full retail price is going to cost you about $50 more than sale price.

This was the deciding factor for me purchasing the phone at a VZW corporate store. Based on what the CSR told me over the phone, you won't be able to ORDER the phone until the 17th which I found rather unusual. Figured they'd let you order the phone on the 16th (today) and have it arrive at your door on the 17th. I'm due at my store on the 17th at 10:00am to pick mine up.
On a side note, I already have the haters at work with Sprint/AT&T/T-Mobile saying, "Why does anyone need 4G speeds?" so when I get my phone on Thursday and those peckerheads want to see my phone I'm going to answer them with, "Why does someone that asks why someone needs 4G speeds need to look at someone else's 4G phone?"

Right, how dumb! I called yesterday and was told the same thing, I said hold on, I have to wait until Thurs to first order it, and not today to at least get it Thurs? Negative, i'll be visiting my friends store at opening to grab one real quick, well hopfully real quick! Its like Verizon really wants to make it hard on Android users to get this phone. This is what they should have done for the iphone release, Apple would have loved that!
Same question from me about ordering online: Does anyone know if I can order online after Midnight (Eastern Standard time) tonight? Or should I get a good night's sleep and wait until tomorrow morning to order?
I have a feeling I won't be able to get one at the store tomorrow evening after I'm done with work. Last time, all of the stores in my area ran out of the Droid X by the evening on the day of release. Thus, want to order online as soon as I can.
