(ask)facebook notification doesnt work

I've download the new version of facebook for android, but i have some disappointment with this application :
1. There is no notification when somebody comment in my status
2. I cant see my friend (that online beside me) in the chat list
Does anybody have the same problem????
Is there any good application that can solve my problem????

I have the same problem. Am still looking for a fix. I have the newest version of Facebook app and Froyo.

When the newest update will released?....we need the better Facebook software for android...
I use x8 with floyo 0.15 rom

This is an app that fills in a lot of the deficiencies in the facebook app. I use the paid version, not sure what the difference is (I got it before there was a free version).

Thanks for info,but I think it's take high consumption in battery ...and still not real time..

Mine refreshes every 5 minutes and uses less than 2% of my battery everyday. It is really easy on the battery and refreshing every 5 minutes is pretty close to real time, if you need closer to real time there are options to update more frequently or you can set up push notifications through gmail but I'm not not sure exactly how it works.
