Turned on Hotspot... will i get charged?

got TB today, awesome phone. saw the hotspot buttom and opened it and connected to it. iphone was on wifi and i connected it. Worked like a charm.. i read some places, and wirefly offers free hotspot till may 5th, is this the case? id imagine it just wouldnt connect if i didnt pay for it.

till may then ull have to sign up for tether but dont forget the 2gb tether limit they impose on the feature still , or just root it and go that route.
 
It is free till may 15th then it will cost $20 per month for two gig. There maybe some tricks to avoid the $20 a month so check back by then.

thanks guys, im new to android, is there any way to root right now? also, if i DL an app from market place for tethering via usb ( correct me if im worng, but dont think wireless ones exists ) can i go over 2gb?
 
I just got off the phone w a VZW rep for an unrelated issue. While I had him on the phone, I asked him this question. He suggested to ensure I avoided charges using this, I should call and make sure the hotbot feature is cancelled (?!) At the end of the trial period.

If he's right (and he may not be) this would be a horrible hidden charge! As a side note, the reason I called in the first place was to cancel a charge that my son incurred while playing the "free" pre-installed game (the golf one). Ridiculous. He didn't even hit the first ball before it said something would show up on my bill. He brought it to me (after playing with it for 60 seconds) and the message was on the screen! So much for a free game...I'm guessing I can't even reinstall it.

I was also talking with a rep today and he said the same thing. Make sure you cancel this or you will be charged the $20/month.
