Root One Click Root App....

I currently tried using the "SuperOneClick" program to root my phone. For some reason, I keep getting stuck at:

"Reading OS Version properties...
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
FAILED"

What am I doing wrong?

i just downloaded z4root.1.2.1.apk for my xperia running 2.1. installed it and press 'root'. the first time, it rebooted the phone, and when i ran busybox it says my phone is not rooted. second time, launch z4root, press 'root', it spins and the bottom says 'attempting to apply root'...yet, it does not seem to do anything after 10 min..

what am i doing wrong here??

What version of firmware do u have?

i have ...
baseband version: 2.1.54
kernel version: 2.6.29
build number: 2.1.A.0.435

i read the z4root does not work with this version, right? i downloaded the superoneclick, but i am a Mac user, so i am not sure how to do that.
assuming i can use a PC for the superoneclick, how does it work? i do not see any instructions after i unzipped the file

Dude that happened to me, all u need to do is run SuperOneClick in Windows... and follow the steps to root ^^
That's the only way to be root on FW 0.435 :D

no. its not the only way.
the best and secure way to do wherever you want to your phone these days is through flashtool (check my signature)

Well it's not the only way but SuperOneClick is secure too, my flashtool didn't work that's why I used SuperOneClick it's up to you
 
can someone please tell me what to do after rooting? lol, I have downloaded the busy app thing, but it always forces close

i was using window parallel running window XP on my mac. i ran superoneclick and it says 'SuperOneClick has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience'. what do i do now?
 
So ive done my research but I guess not enough, I am baffled on how to get this running on my phone so I can do the one click root, someone be of some assistance?

Hi, I have Xperia X10i with android 2.1.

I am trying to root my phone but having some problems, everytime I try to start the bach file and connect my phone in flash mode.

But in everytime it says that "java" is not recognized or something. Anyone know how I can easyli root my phone

I have windows 7
 
I have now tried to root my phone using z4root, I have tried all the versions. Everytime it either turns to blackscreen for a long time, untill I turn it off.

The othertimes it crashes, becomes unresponsive and I have to force close.

Anyone have good Ideas for how I can root it? I have android 2.1.

Use SuperOneClick
 
Found a link how to do it on my computer, I used this link: [How to]: Root your Xperia X10 now! | Gadgets DNA.

After finishing the first step I took out the battery as the tutorial told me to, when I was going to turn it back on it came up the normal "sony ericson" and right after it said: "ntt docomo", then the screen turned black but there is still light in the background but nothing happens.

Im afraid my phone turned into a "brick". This is my first time rooting, can someone please tell me what to do??

SuperOneClick works with every version as far as I am aware.

It is a rooting and flashing tool. With SuperOneClick, I could install version 1.6 or 2.1 or a custom setup.

PS. Next time please just create a new thread asking the question rather than digging up this old thread and adding to it. It is a lot cleaner that way.
