I have a Droid at the moment because my Droid X was messed up so I decided to use my Droid for now, I just installed some apps and what not and it was running great. It is running Cyaongenmod RC 7 and it was working fine, but I wasnt receiving text messages so I rebooted, now I am stuck at the Cyanogenmod boot screen with the circle going around. My Droid wont boot into recovery and I dont know what do do. Please help me fix this, I need my phone ASAP

Even if the ROM is hosed, you should be able to boot into the bootloader by powering on the phone while holding the letter X on the physical keyboard until the bootloader comes up.

I tried that, but all that happened was it stayed on the morotola M, then blinked, and started the M again...

Here are a few options to enter the bootloader screen:

Shut down the phone by pressing on Power button for a while, and choose Power Off.

Method 1: Press and hold the X key on the QWERTY keyboard of the phone, and press the Power button until the screen lights up. When the Motorola logo appears, release the Power button but keep hold of the X key until icon describe below appears.

Method 2: Press and hold the Camera button on side of phone, and press the Power button until the screen lights up. When the Motorola logo appears, release the Power button but keep hold of the Camera button until icon describe below appears.

Method 3: Press and hold the Volume Down button, and press then Power button until the screen lights up. Then select Recovery and press Power

When I went from rooted stock droid to roms, my first rom was cyanogen. I also had boot issues. What I ended up doing was re-rooting via adb- http://androidforums.com/droid-all-...oid-without-rsd-lite-up-including-frg83d.html - and then using clockwork recovery to revert to stock rooted.

THEN, I flashed CGM, and had no issues. Other than the fact I didnt care for CGM, and went to Pete's GPA ROM, using the adb/rageagainstthecage method got me out of that loop and back up and running.

I know its a convoluted way to get where I wanted to be, but it did work for me, and now I am (and have been since) running flawlessly. Might take an hour or so but it got me back up and running when I thought I was bricked.

Just to make it absolutely clear in this thread (mainly for the readers) ALL the answers here that referenced booting into the bootloader are incorrect. Every single one of those methods are for booting into recovery. Recovery and bootloader are two very distinct and different things.

@ Doubledee90: Did you make any backups before trying out CM7RC2? If so, which custom recovery system did you have installed on your phone? And just to make sure, your phone still will not boot into either recovery, nor the OS, but will power up and/or charge?

Answer these and I/we can go from there.
